  1. I love Birldand, but I don't think it would fit in the context of a "2000-2010" album. Sure it was released in 07, but I listen to it as the 1986 piece with finished vocals that it is. It's somewhere in the middle of new song and b-side and old song. Either way, I love it and I'm just talking about semantics
  2. Well, I just bought the 20th anniversary edition of JT and from Edge's liner notes it sounded like the lyrics and vocals were entirely new, just based on a tune that had been recorded in 1986. Not sure which period it belongs to. I can't imagine that if they had finished it, as it now stands, they would have left it off JT. Not a typical B-side -- though neither are Silver and Gold, Sweetest Thing, and Spanish Eyes.

    That's right. The Joshua Tree started recording sessions in 1986 and Wave of Sorrow was one of the first songs they did. The vocals are from 2007.
  5. Personally, I can't see a "Best of 2000-2010" ever happening after the "Best Of 1990-2000" sales weren't that great. I think all future U2 compilations will play safe commercially by covering their entire career, though hopefully none of them will be compiled by the same Virgin Radio teaboy who pretended Zooropa and Pop didn't exist when compiling the pointless U218 Singles.

    Anyway, if The Best Of 2000-2010 does ever happen, here's how I'd see it going if it were commercially-oriented (obviously single versions apply where available):

    3. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
