1. I think it's better than Achtung Baby...but that's me.
I say Zooropa is the best, with this not far behind
  2. The old albums are milemarkers of my life, so I have a hard time placing the new one among them, but I will say that I took to this one quicker than the last few.
  3. Upon further listening, I realized how great No Line on the Horizon (song), Magnificent, Moment of Surrender and I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight really are. So my rankings have been changed up a little bit.

    Achtung Baby
    Pop
    Boy
The Joshua Tree -or- Zooropa -or- No Line on the Horizon
All That You Can't Leave Behind
How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
    October
    War
    The Unforgettable Fire

I'm really indecisive about the 4 spot, so for now, I'll say that NLOTH is tied for my fourth favorite album. Not bad, went from seventh to fourth since its release
  4. its still early days for me,but i dont think its anywhere near their best work.

it does have some classics on there already, but some rubbish on there too imho.

i would say personally its somewhere in the middle in terms of albums they have done.

my favourites in order would have to be.

    J.T
    BOY
    ACHTUNG BABY
    UNFORGETTABLE FIRE
    POP
    WAR
    NLOTH
    RATTLE AND HUM
    ATYCLB
    ZOOROPA
    OCTOBER

  6. Achtung Baby/Zooropa
    The Joshua Tree
    No Line on the Horizon/Pop
    The Unforgettable Fire
    Boy/October/War
All That You Can't Leave Behind
How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

    ZOOtv forever
  7. Heck no. I can appreciate it for its experimentalism (is that a word?) but I don't think it's one of the best. Not better than War or JT or AB or Pop. (so I guess those are my other favorites)
  8. Its in my top five
    Better than boy-war, ropa-passengers

  9. IMHO - It should be. For me it's sort of like this

(Tied for first) THE JOSHUA TREE & ACHTUNG BABY
(Tied for Second place) THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE, NLOTH & ZOOROPA
  10. A few ties here, but still....

1/2 Optimum musical strength/depth, production, cohesion, thematic unity etc: Achtung Baby/The Joshua Tree

3/4 Superb creative milestones: Zooropa/The Unforgettable Fire

    5/6 Consistent and solid: War/Boy

7/8/9 Mostly good, but not quite fully focused/developed, sounding slightly unfinished/slightly lacking, have Fire, Elvis Ate America and the second half of Miami among their ranks: October/Passengers/Pop

10/11/12 The Dadrock Trilogy - some genuinely great songs, but not enough imagination, consistency, cohesion or progression: How To DIsmantle An Atomic Bomb/All That You Can't Leave Behind/No Line On The Horizon

  11. my top 3:

    The Joshua Tree
    Achtung Baby
    No Line on the Horizon

"no line..." is better as I ever hoped it would be, a very good album with some REAL pearls of songs!
  12. Maybe not the best one, not the worst either...kinds of album that songs goes in your mind slowly but surely! Musicaly, probably their best... if this album will have songs that will past time, like new years day, one, ... we will see. It's definitively too early to tell.
