  4. Same sort of style. Wondering when it will be released

2009-03-06: Site > Promo singles have already started showing up for the next single off of "No Line on the Horizon" and that song is "Magnificent". Expect an April physical release for the single. [AJ] - U2wanderer.
  5. Now we're talking! It'll probably be out this month, they need a good single to launch the album

  6. U2wanderer says April. Sounds pretty quick to me. Maybe it's anticipation of the not-so-good reception of Get On Your Boots (which I think is ridiculous because of it's strength, I already compare it with The Fly and Discotheque). Vertigo was released in November and Sometimes in February, so that's 4 months. Boots had his physical release in February, if Magnificent will be released in April, that's 2 months.

U2’s No Line On The Horizon is on course to top the Irish album chart tomorrow, with sales that are greater than the rest of the top 20 combined.

“This is great news for our retailers and for the industry” proffers Universal MD Mark Crossingham. “It’s bringing customers back into stores.”

Agreeing with those sentiments HMV’s Irish Music Manager Pat Howe adds: “Sales of No Line On The Horizon have exceeded our already high expectations, and the album has sold exceptionally well for us across all the formats, which are proving hugely popular among collectors. It's been one of the biggest week-one releases we've seen in quite a while. U2 are one of the few bands who can reach beyond their core fanbase to connect with a much wider audience. This not only helps to generate huge sales, but gets people into stores and excited about music.”

U2 have already charted at number one in France, Belgium, Japan, Finland, Poland and the Czech Republic, with mid-week sales figures also suggesting that come Sunday they’ll be at the summit in the UK.
