1. Iv downloaded all the letterman AVIs and the sound/picture quality is great but 'crazy tonight' is just deafening. It's not a problem it just put's the other tracks out of kilt. any way of getting the other tracks up to the same quality or am i just being weird.
Please don't take this as a complaint, it's not
  2. They are all created with the same program, I will check if Dieder used different settings

Maybe he used normalized mp3 audio instead of the original AC3 stream But it is not an error anyway. The others are AC3 and not normalized (so they are pretty quiet compared to a normalized mp3).

Many playback programs offer a normalize option. If you enable that everything should be equal in loudness
  3. Yes Dieder used MP3 stereo (normalized) audio and the others are 5.1 AC3 surround. That is the difference. But with a normalizer enabled all should be good
  4. Thank you to those you edit and upload all these great clips...
I d/l Breathe from Letterman, the single avi version. I'm getting no audio at all on this file. Anyone else having this problem?
  5. So Crazy is not as good as the others? Maybe I did something wrong, program is pretty new for me.

  6. Its good. Small improvement can be to use the original audio (AC3 in this case). Its under advanced settings. Pick original and everything should be fine. (AutoGK )

But choosing MP3 can be a valid decision as well. As you can see AC3 cant be played on a clean Windows install

What about the others do they work? (Magnificent, Boots, Beautiful Day?)

    EDIT:

It sounds like you are missing a 'codec'. Everything should work fine on these setups:

Windows Media Player (with FFDSHOW decoder)

    VideoLAN Player (VLC)

Media Player Classic ( - Home Cinema)

If you use one of these options you 90% of all video's on the net will play without problems!

  8. Whoooooooooooa no, no ,crazy is brilliant, the sound & picture are the best, it just put's all the other tracks into the background.
    keep using that programme.

i don't want to come across as an ungrateful nit picker, all who upload these clips are 'magnificent'.

evertything plays fine, looks fantastic(best looking iv got) it's just that crazy comes on and i have to turn the volume whaaaay down. i just thought if the others were done the same way it would sound incredible.

Has anyone else noticed this or do they all play at the same volume????
  9. I downloaded the mp3s, and GOYB, Magnificient and Beautiful Day are VERY quiet while Breathe and Crazy are quite loud. Soundwise all are equally great, it's just a volume issue.

They play at a different volume. Because of different settings.

Crazy has stereo sound (2 channels)
The others have the original, highest quality and untouched surround sound (6 channels)

Does your player support ReplayGain technology? I used the same settings on all rips Here in Foobar 2000 plays every MP3 at the same 'loudness' Although I forgot to add ReplayGain tags to Breathe

ReplayGain only supports audio files i think though. The video loudness is because of different settings as described above (normalized MP3 versus original AC3 stream)
