    How many paid U2.com subscribers are there? Who knows...

    Hopefully not that many in the cities where Im trying to go to shows!



    If this is true ( ~ 10% of tix up for purchase in pre-sale) then it appears less clear that purchasing a code now will guarantee anything. For instance, BC Place in Vancouver will seat ~ 55,000(?) for the show and will attract diehards from Seattle and the rest of the pacific northwest as well as the rest of the Western Canada. I would feel less than secure that current subscribers (who can purchase up to 4 tix each) wouldn't buy up ~ 5,500 tix for this show - although perhaps I am being a little pessimistic.

    There seems to be a misprint on the email some of you were sent

    Some of the emails say you are in one seniority category (eg Breathe) and then it says you are in an other (e.g Horizon) further into the email

    I have made Admin aware of the situation, and a correction is forthcoming, with a breakdown of the seniority categories.

    Please check the FEATURED TOPIC about presales for that breakdown

    i can tell you it is 100% true. i work in the music/concert industry and the 10% has been a standard for many years. But, U2 could always fight for a higher percentage given their size...regardless though i can guarantee you it is NOT an unlimited presale. Your code only gives you an advantage, in no way are you guaranteed anything

    No, I think it's pretty realistic, not pessimistic. I'll be driving over 5 hours to get to Vancouver...the next closest show to me is 14 hours away.

    Thanks for the valuable info everybody. I think I will wait for the regular sale and try to beat the 'bots'. Enjoy the show haytrain - with any luck myself and a few friends will be joining you there.

This sucks- even if you get a subscription to U2.com nothing is guaranteed...I can't help but feel that the subscription is just a good moneymaking idea for the band and whoever else is involved: spend $50 on a subscription and you're one of thousands trying to get only a handful of tickets. I honestly think I'd have better luck trying to get tickets when they go on sale to the general public. It's a dreadful feeling to do this "crapshoot" every tour- I just hope there will be some decent fans out there who will make any extra tickets available without trying to make some quick money.

    I guess I am also frustrated that due to monetary circumstances I can't get tickets for three, four, five or more shows like some people do every tour. I'm lucky to have extra money to go to ONE show, and it is frustrating that I'll have to compete with the show-hoppers.

    Wow- sorry for venting like this......Any words of kindness, calming or compassion?!?

    Don't worry, I don't have lots of money either
    The subscription is a complete ripoff, and reflects the over-commercialization of u2. They are not helping fans, just taking more of their money. I was checking out NIN's website, and they had pre-sale to members of their site, and joining is free. Too bad they aren't touring New England like u2 though.
