I got to the Somerville Theater around 3:30pm today where they're having their gig tonight. There was nobody out in the front of the theater, and the police were just setting up the barricades. I went around the back, and there was a group of about 40 or so people waiting with the U2 equipment trucks (I saw Joe O'Herily, Sam Suillvan, and Brian Murphy). There was a barraicade separating us from the equipment and staff. We waited for an hour, and then we heard the sirens wailing in the distance. About two minutes later, a couple black cars pulled up, and Bono gets out first, then Edge, then Adam!!! They came right over to us, didn't even stop to talk to anyone else in the press or whatever. I was a couple rows back from the people up against the barricade, but as Bono and Edge made their way around to our side, they were each about 5 inches from my face. Absolutely amazing. So amazing.

I can't even think coherently right now, so this doesn't make much sense, but it was absolutely surreal. So cool to see the boys in person. So cool.

Some pics from today. I held my camera high above my head, which is why they're not great pictures, but you can still see the band members.

I'm sure that on this tour, they'll be around and we'll all get close to them!
  4. So many of my online friends have been at Letterman / Fordham / L.A. / Boston in the last two weeks. I'm so jealous. But happy for them too! Someday...

Of course, I told Mr. Z that I just want to get within 50 feet of Larry and he scrunched up his face and said "I'm the drummer in your life."
