1. Oh lol.

Is that something Coldplay related? Get the pitchforks!!!!
  2. First off Nick, I think the writer meant that they play "Magnificent" over the PA....not live. There's no way that Coldplay would play a U2 song to open their show. Especially a brand spankin' new one.

The free live album is a great idea....although a bootleg is pretty much that.

So, has Magnificent been officially named the next single, because the writer of that little bit implied that fact.

Aww man, I knew it was too good to be true.
  4. I am actually psyched for a free live thing.
They might have played magnificent, its happened before, maybe not with u2. I can't name any off the top of my head now though.
  5. Something that DID actually happen, I was there to witness it, was this.

During U2's 1st Slane Castle date in 2001 (August 25th), Coldplay was playing somewhere in the afternoon. Chris Martin announced their hit Yellow as follows:

"There's been a lot of talk about this next song. Maybe, maybe too much talk. This song is not a rebel song, this song is...............Yellow".

It was absolutely brilliant because he knew almost all of the 80.000 people there were waiting for U2. He got a big cheer for that one.

But they would have played it over the PA system as they're taking the stage, not opened the concert by doing a live performance of a BRAND NEW song by one of their biggest competitors. No way.
  7. Catch me if you can. Watch it from 2:50 - hilarious.
