1. Hi all, I was just wondering why Mysterious Ways was only included in the Slane DVD as a bonus track. I don't think there's a legal issue due to Bono's daughter not being 18 yet as in the Sydney release - otherwise there wouldn't have been the bonus track. It may be the quality, perhaps, although I don't think that Mysterious Ways here is any worse than, say, Staring at the Sun or Pride. Any thoughts? Does anyone know?
  2. Probably only a commercial reason, they wanted a bonus track and there was nothing they could find, so they just decided to extract one song into a bonus track.

Other reason could be a filesize issue, the DVD could have become too large, so one song in another (lower) format with less sound/video options as a bonus could solve this.

IMHO there is no valid reason to do this, it's really useless. It doesn't flow anyway, where the song used to be in the concert.
  3. The song was played between Pride and Streets
Luckily they left it out and used it as a bonus track.

  4. As worse as it may was (it is one of my fav. Slane tracks though), it's wrong to leave a song out of a live performance. The flow between Streets and Pride doesn't feel natural anymore.

Mwah... not here. People say that about the Boston DVD too, but I don't feel it lake that. But what I think is wrong is that they left out Tryin' To Throw... out of the Sydney DVD.

That is a thing I understand, it's due to legal issues. The only discussion there can't be a debate about

One of my favorite too, very emotional at the end, and (mysterious) ways better than the Chicago DVD. I also find the setlist a bit impoverished without it.

Btw: hope we'll find the live version of Magnificent from Somerville in some future B-side :-) (Nice performance; I wonder whether the vocals might have been edited a bit at some point, though.)
  9. they used a different style of filming/editing during during Mysterious Ways on Slane - it looks like Hamish was going for a psychadelic feel and it doesnt fit with the rest of the DVD.

True, I like it though. Sydney's performance was better but this one perfectly represents the Elevation-version of MW.
  11. I heard they put it on as a bonus track because the band felt it didn't fit in between the other 2 songs

  12. Yeah i think so to. Mysterious Ways is way too playful to be played between 2 anthemic songs at Slane Castle with so much emotion going on.
