1. I have thought this for a long time, even though I didn't ask it yet...

Isn't the weather a bit too cold in North America (specially Canada) over October/November? I think there will be snow and rain all over the place, not the best weather for a stadium show...

What do you care? We'll have guys here in the summer

On a serious note, I'm not sure if stadium gigs in North America in that time are a good decision. US concerts in September seem to be fine, but as they go further in October, probably November, too, it might get rather cold there. I think there will be a few gigs added for November as well, but people's asses might freeze on those shows.

Where's Steve to tell us U2 will do summer gigs in the US?

Well, for November nothing is planned so far. October is filled with mostly "southern" dates. Vancouver is an exception. But you'll probably have 10°C even in October there.

It all depends where they play. The upper part of the country will be too cold in the late fall, but many of those cities have domed football stadiums or retractable roofs, so they could make it work.
  5. I'm hoping to see them in Glendale, AZ at University of Phoenix Stadium. I can tell you that October isn't really bad as far as temperatures go- but then again, I live in a desert where high temps hit 100F pretty regularly from June-September...Remember the Joshua Tree shows in Phoenix in December of 87......
  6. True! Tempe, Tampa, Los Angeles, Oakland... It's very true. Thanks for convincing me
  7. did a bit of research- average high temperature in Glendale, AZ for October is 90F, average low is 59....last year on date of show (Oct. 20) high was 94F, with a low of 63F...Only in Arizona- middle of fall and it's still freakin' summer!!!!!!!
  8. Wonder why Ticketmuncher still doesn't have a page up for the PHX sale?

Let me add some things from a canadian perspective.

Both Vancouver and Toronto have large indoor stadiums 60K+, only Toronto's is retractible, Montreal has a retractible roof ( that hasn't worked since 1976) but is slightly smaller 45-50K. The rest of the major cities all have large 45-50+ plus outdoor football stadiums (Edmonton's Commonwealth is the largest and can hold 65,000 + 10-15K on the floor. The canadian football, (not soccer, i know...) season runs in the fall, September to November.

As for weather, No issues with Van or TO because of the covered stadium. For the other venues to be safe you are looking at a mid may to October 1st as the best seasonal time for a show.
Right now today in Edmonton it is 14c and the last of the snow is finally melting, however I have seen snow fly here as late as early may.

open arms for the Edmonton shows next year!
