Only By The Night is by far thee worst Kings Of Leon album to date. Ironically though this album has earned them superstar status and found them masses of new fans. They easily have the potential to become absolutely massive and eclipse bands like The Killers. I do doubt though that they will ever recapture the magic of those first 2 (and maybe third) albums. Too return to their roots would be to loose all these new Sex On FIre fans. Pissed O never saw them live sooner than I did.

Really? all the reviews I read said how on Only By The Night they hit the big time and that it eclipsed their earlier work. Which was fairly predictable Southern rock.

Riffs off a lot of 80s U2 though, with the vocalizations and atmospherics.
They're a good 'new' band, their first couple of albums were forgettable so they're not exceptional new talent, unlike say the Killers.

2 good tracks on it. It was critically acclaimed, over produced but it had the killer singles. Bomb won a Grammy. So shot music can still do well.
