1. Take You Down is interesting because of the two lyrics sung at the same time. (I've wondered if anyone could decipher them?) I'm sure Bono sings both of them sometimes but The Edge definitely delivers some vocals as well.

    Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-babababa...

That's what it sounds like to me. It's got a funky instrumental, but that's about it.

    And this take you out
You tell don't take you down
    I will take you
    I will take you down

Act you want to get what you're getting
I know want, take it what you wanted to
On is what, all is all
    To want it to get

    I look for you
    All the way you cry

Endless in your guy, don't take him on
Always in your eye, I'm looking for

    I take of you

    Down in the bottom
Down in the bottom of wrong

    Been wrong again

I'll be coming to you, yeah

    We're getting warmer

    Oh...
Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh, an uh

    Stay awake, say you're back

    Don't take it all

    Uh huh, uh an uh
    Don't say forever

    Don't take it all

    Sugar I'm about dance
I look down on the rest
No one have broke you down to
    Too many think about you
    Wanted to take you
    Wanted to take you down

Ooo, do what you get it,
    I can get it
    My heart in the sunlight
    I don't get it
You're going to the right land
Going back to the way we were

    Get up...
    Uh huh, uh uh

Wake up, wake up, wake up

    And out you come
    Wake up dead man

    You wanna talk
    I'll let you come...down

Wake up, wake up, wake up
    Wake up dead man

    Bono (both channels)

    Oooo, taking it out
    Taking it to
    Taking the zoo
    And they'll be view
    I'll go with you
    Baby it's true

    You come home the chances
    You come home alone
    You broke into dancing
    Did you do
    How come to do

Bono: "I was Singing a bit late here."

I know she wants your money
    I know, so don't you...get it wrong
    You got to get along
    Sometimes you get it wrong
    Won't taking it anymore...

Sounds like something I'd make up while doing nothing.

    Thanks a lot

How cool would it be if they played this live? Bono singing one lyric and Edge the other. The greatest duet of all times!

    I can think of better...

  5. Squidgy is in the speech, but I was referring to somewhere earlier in the book, I think around chapter 24 (pg. 193 according to Amazon) where they are writing song names on the board for Zooropa and Edge asks what they should call the beginnings of a song and Bono says "Slidey", but then Eno suggests "Squidgy" and it diverges into this whole thing about Adam's mother not approving because she's British . . . they never mention the song again so I'm not sure what became of it.
  6. I remember reading somewhere that the song The King's New Clothes played at the 1979-10-05 Cork show eventually became The Dream Is Over. I have to check that though; in the meantime, anstratdubh1979, does that ring a bell with you? You probably know better than I do.

I did find a version of it online in the Until The End of The World book and that's what it says.

  10. I read it in U2:A Diary annd it is supposed to be Bono's reaction to ad's for Underpants on the London Tube. Sound's a bit stupid but i just thought you'd like to know. (it's no joke i didn't make it up)
  11. I believe it. Sounds like a tune from Pop...
