1. Anyone know if this from any bootleg or was is just peformed for the cameras only? If so is it possible to find an mp3 anywhere?

    Thanks
    Martin

    Epic concert.
  4. I think this version was recorded or overdubbed after the concert on the 19th just in front of the camera crew....

  5. That's what I heard too

  6. I'm pretty sure that rumor is false.

The raw audio from the 12-19 boot exactly matches WOWY on the Rattle And Hum DVD. Compare all the particulars: Bono's vocal timing & inflections, Edge's notes. Hell, even the audio mix is basically identical.

There's many examples that would take too much time, but here's one.

Before "my hands are tied": (1:57)

    and ya give
    and ya give
    and ya give yourself aweh-hey -- Edge's vocal phrasing lingers a half-second after Bono's finishes and sings a higher harmony "aweh-hey." (2:05)

This is unique to this performance of WOWY. It's not exactly like this on 12-20 or the previous performance.

So to expect them to do that twice on the same night is unlike U2. And this is one example of an unlikely matchup out of, like 20 or 30.

ALSO: "My hands are tied - Nothing left to lose" (2:10 - 2:22)

The camera pans through the audience and you can see lighters in different sections throughout the stadium.

If this was after the show, wouldn't it be better documented in U2 folklore (like U2 Live by Pimm Jal de la Jarra)?

    ---

    A more mysterious question:

Why is Streets on the 12-19 Tempe boot ripped from a PAL copy of the Rattle And Hum DVD?

That violates U2start rules, but I guess-- SHHHHH.

yeah, i've had this problem before. go to the mp3 file in the folder you saved it, right click and then properties, three box's will be at the bottom, make sure that 'read only' is unticked, then you should be sorted
  9. Maybe it was just the video that wasn't live, maybe they overdubbed the live audio onto footage shot in front of an empty stadium...
  10. There is another strange thing about Tempe and the later Rattle and Hum movie. No known concert footage from Tempe shows the (normal) tree stage backdrop but the white one with u and 2 cut on the edges which was normally used during support acts.

But in the book U2 SHOW you find some concert fotos from Tempe (it is definitely Tempe) with the tree backdrop.

It must have been rolled up and down during the gig...
