  1. Can Bono be recognized as one of the best singers of all time? Recently I saw one list: Top Male Singers of All Time, Bono was 5º...

    For me he belongs on the top 3, but then again that list had Mick Jagger in it and Rod Stewart( not doubting their musical talent but come on.... )

    What do you think?

    Some of my friends that arent U2 fans wouldnt even place him that high
    I would say his quite "broad" tough love the opera bit he did on the vertigo tour during Miss Sarajevo
    A guy friend too me claimed Bono didnt have that good voice but when we saw U2 3D and that part came on I think he got pretty amazed because he havent said a word about his voice sense that lol
    I would consider him one of the greatest IMO

    I think it all depends what you look at. Bono can do some opera, but there are better opera-singers. Bono can do some jazz, but there are better jazzsingers. Bono can do some soul, but there are better soulsingers, etc etc etc.
    So overall he might be one of the best....
  4. Eddie Vedder is a far better singer than Bono at the moment. Bono was no doubt the best singer around 1985, 1986

    Bono is the best vocalist ever. Dave Gahan and a couple others come close though.
  7. Vedders got a great voice but not better than Bono. IMO Freddy Mercury is #1 regardless if you like the music or not....
