  4. I am a new guy on the forums, but I think this is new info for the group...

    1. In an interview in May 2007, the film's director Catherine Jones said 3ality digital, the production company, had plans to release a DVD version of the U2 3D film. (This was before the film was released and things may have changed since then, especially since it was not a strong seller at the box office.)

    "The film is financed by 3ality and there will be DVD releases which will only be available in 3D so people will need to see it with glasses. Right now everyone can see it on their TV with a converter box using 3D glasses but Samsung is currently putting a 3D chip into their TV’s but I’m not sure what stage that’s at..."


    2. The production company, 3ality, continues to promote the cinema version of the U2 3D on its web site and blog. The film apparently is in very limited re-release in some places, tied to the launch of No Line on the Horizon.

    For what it is worth, i think this film is phenomenal and would show well in 2D also. I saw it three times in 3D, including once at an Imax and it is what actually made me into a big U2 fan. That said, if you blinked, you missed it because it played in very few theaters and generally for only a few days.

  5. I heard something that most cinema's will switch to 3D in the near future to keep the people going to the cinema. So in the indirect future, we might see 3D TV's so I expect a possible 3D DVD within 30 years..

    Good thing. I bought UABRS-Red Rocks on DVD yesterday (26 years later), so I can see a 2031 U23D DVD


  7. I'll be 42 then..so I can tell my kids that daddy watched that stuff in the good old cinema back in 2008, when music was still made with guitars and drumkits instead of computers.

  9. Someone told me that TV's cannot display 3D at this moment so this has not been released but that's not true- I own a few 3D movies right now that work fine on TV but better on a computer since you can sit closer to it.
  10. 3D television does exist, but it still is not mature enough. My guess they wait until 3d television has been adopted by more people.
  11. i really want this, if not this than another screaning at imax again cos its an experience and a half and my belife is on blu ray it may handle the 3D image my bloody valentine pulls it off well, why cant this?
  12. Just to open up the discussion again; Has anyone heard of the U2 3D concert movie beind released on DVD? It's possible to view 3D at home now... so it would be great if this concert would be released on 3D DVD soon!!
