Both bands' record label, Universal, is believed to have signed a deal with the sport’s owners for its acts to appear at various races across Europe.

The agreement also includes “stars from the world of movies, sport and fashion”, according to the Sun newspaper.

Universal’s chairman Lucian Grainge said the collaboration would create “a groundbreaking, all-new entertainment spectacular”.

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone added: “I’ve always said we are in the entertainment business and this deal marks a new dimension for Formula 1.

“I have high hopes for it.”

Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls, whose lead singer Nicole Scherzinger dates world champion Lewis Hamilton, could also perform as part of the deal.

So, we might have the famous Formula One-bootlegs within months.

    WTF!
How the hell would he know!

Please sit down before reading. Kthx. By now, it's possibly the No. 1 question on every U2 fan's mind: What songs will U2 play on tour this year? Edge shares some possible answers in the new issue of Rolling Stone (with Green Day on the cover). Here's a snippet shared with us by @U2 Forum member, "The Exile."

RS: "What will the set lists be like?"

Edge: "We're talking about resurrecting songs we haven't played in a long time. I have a list of every U2 song -- some I can't remember anymore -- even some of the B-sides that we've never played live. We were thinking how much fun it would be to play something like 'Luminous Times.' Certain songs from the last couple of tours, we may not play again. We want to find songs that feel fresh and valid."

RS: "How are the new songs shaping up live?"

Edge: "We'll play about half the album, and having played some in TV appearances, we know these songs translate well live. There's a few that will be up there with our best-ever live songs. Some of them we really have to rework -- 'Crazy Tonight' was a very keyboard oriented song on the album, but I took it to the guitar live, and it sounds great...."

Edge also says he "wouldn't rule out" singing lead on a song, and when Rolling Stone suggests "Numb," Edge promises to add it to the list of possibilities.
  4. That is very good news from The Edge. Don't skip The Fly though

  5. that's encouraging. I especially like the part about only playing about half of the new album. Thanks, yeah.

  6. Nah well...

    If they play

    Breathe
    Moment Of Surrender
    Stand Up Comedy
    No Line On The Horizon
    Magnficent

I'm satisfied... but they will sureley play

    Boots
    Magnificent
    Crazy
    Breathe

Rest of the songs will rotate or something like that.
  7. Wonder what the reactions will be when they start playing Luminous Times..What song is that?

  8. Haha yeah.... Would be really funny to pick out the real fans then

  9. Luminous Times would be sweet live, they've never played it right?

LT is what I always expected Every Breaking Wave to sound like, it has the whole seascape vibe to it and with some slight reworking would fit nicely with songs from NLOTH.
