1. Love the album version, live is decent.
  2. Best live : WTSHNN and WOWY
Worst : WOWY at the Amsterdam Arena ( because the sound was really really terreble )

    Best Studio: Kite
    Worst studio: the pop album

I wouldn't say Miami is brilliant and Bad is better than ok . Its good that you like all those though, maybe you have more of an artist view on things and I see things too simplistically... i don't know...

Disagree? You know that's against the rules?

    Seriously tough, opinions are opinions
My view is not more artistic than anyone else's
And when you listen to U2 there isn't such a thing as simplistically
  4. Drunk Chicken aint much of a song, but its a great poem.

It can't really be counted in this discussion, its not a song.

I think any discussion on best and worst song should stick to album tracks, cos b-sides, remixes and rarities just open up a pandora's box of choices. And the band may never have intended people to take such tracks seriously.
  5. Best: All I Want Is You
    Worst: One, Red Light, Magnificent

  6. At the ones you hate, i love

I've been thinking, maybe the best is Mercy....

Does anyone agree or am i over rating it...?
  7. BEST = Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me

WORST = Do You Feel Loved

  8. I cant believe this shocks you !LOL Compared to some other picks but yes I must say I cringe when I hear this song. This is the reason why I hated Zooropa for so long until I got past this song. This is the song that almost made me give up on u2!! I love Bonos falsetto but theres something about the way he sings with the disco beat that just makes me sick. I knew I would hear..... The only part I can listen to without cringing is :"I feel...like im slowly slowly slowly slipping under.....

Unfortunately I know it will NEVER click. Ive tried since 1993 to like it but at this point its safe to say it will never grow on me.

Red Light??? The coconut intro is horrible just like 60% of War. The rest of the song is alright....

Mercy...I dunno about overrating an outtake. It's like Pop, you either love it or loathe it. I see it as a real gem and potentially workable and inspired idea. Certainly, it is not the best U2 outtake by far (that goes to Levitate) but it has real meaning, depth and is truly something which you just can't expect from U2.

I guess it was giving a hint as what was to come later on in the near future (Window In The Skies, Father Christmas, Moment of Surrender, Breathe etc). Even though it's a short song like those mentioned, it has potential to be a classic and even a masterpiece, but not in it's current form. I actually think Breathe is Mercy, and from comments here, Interference and atu2, then I agree with those people.

Listen closely to the introduction, the middle guitar reverb with the drums and the lyrics, the style of each vocal, compare each song (Mercy first, Breathe second) on different instrumental attributes and it is there. Lanois and Lillywhite (more so I'd think) and Eno (not so much) would have loved it because it had 'something', even though it's straight-up, in-your-face rock.

So when someone asks one of the band members to play Mercy on the tour, they have, knowingly to themselves, but unbeknown to the person.
