1. I'm really excited about how they perform UV. Does Bono still have the strength to sing those powerful "Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiigght myyyyyy waaaay"s after choruses? If he doesnt, then the whole song will be ruined... What gives me hope is that I think Bono himself understands this - that's why he never tried UV during Popmart or Elevation when his voice was weak.

I have confidence in him. The recent rehearsals sound like his voice is in good shape. At least I hope so /hear it like this lol!

I'm quite curious what the supposed "The band played EBTTRT in Perfecto mix style" will be and sound like in the end IF they decide to keep AND play it. This would mean that they try to make it sound fresher or simply rework it like they did on the little occassions on the Vertigo Tour with Discotheque. I'm still hoping this will be rehearsed, too, btw.

  4. I like this setlist!! i hope they keep Bad in the list
  5. any audio from that last rehersal??
  6. agreed x10.

best u2 song ever.bad and unforgettable fire.i would love to hear bono do mlk live aswell.

  7. Well, when released it met with mixed critical reaction and was never quite up to the level of other signature songs like SBS, NYD or the JT trinity.

And unlike those, I have never met a person who thought Pride was a great song either. So it hardly is a casual favourite.

The song just starts grating on you, especially 25 years on, when it's meaning is diluted (and it was never that powerful a song in the first place). If they really need to play it, they should restrict it to US legs. And I always thought MLK was a far more tasteful tribute to the man.

There are far better songs they can play in its stead, I mean FFS they've even left out an undisputed classic like One and yet they'll still tour an older, less well known song that is far past its use by date.

Thats what I fear too, he doesn't even have the voice for Magnificent at times.

  10. I don't get you either.

You like Promenade, wouldn't u rather see them play that, or Acrobat or Mercy or something?

So not the point. You claim Pride is not a U2 classic. It's perhaps the song most synonymous with U2. It's been played on every tour since its inception, everyone knows it, most expect it and it gets huge amounts of airplay and it was perhaps the first big hit. If that's not a U2 classic I don't know what is. But we're OT so that's where this ends for me.
