It's better not to record it and first to hear it live 30.6. I don't want to hear it before the show.

I'm happier if I don't get to hear them before, but I know I wouldn't resist the temptation to do so if only I had the opportunity. They may play UF in a lower key, as they started doing for SBS at some point. Actually, this would make a lot of sense (Dear Bono Man, don't stretch your voice beyond necessity!).

Anyway. During the last tour the boys rediscovered their first two albums. Now it is time to rediscover album n. 3 and 4.

Next tour we'll get to see Red Hill Mining Town and Hearland live!
  3. Hear*t*land (a great song, btw)
  4. I'm really excited to hear they're rehearsing Unfortgettable Fire and Ultraviolet. I haven't heard them do the former since the last 80s and it's one of their best songs. It's great to see they haven't forgotten about it! Ultraviolet was one of the live highlights on Zoo. I am not so excited to hear Electrical Storm live, and hope if they decide to add that to the set it is not at the expense of Unforgettable Fire or Ultraviolet!
  5. ES, thats brilliant.

But I'm still a tad dissapointed with the songs rehearsed so far.
But hey, it'll be great anyway

i think all the songs we would love to hear live, along with the top hits would total 40+ , we have some great songs on that list, and some personal favorites; it would be impossible to hear them all live

Seems for every two people that likes the songs on the rehearsal list there one person who isn't satisfied. What needs to be remembered is that they have a universe of songs that people know and love. If they played them all, there would be no room for the new stuff.

One heartening thought is that U2's tours have evolved as they progress these days, particularly the most recent one (Vertigo). This means that the first leg's regular setlist may look completely different to the final leg's.

Granted the Vertigo Tour had its share of flaws and critics, but I had to take my hat off to the lads for trying different things during different legs.

The tour featured the most diverse setlists of any before it - and that's a big plus in my book. Its real strength were the semi-regulars like the Electric Co and the rarities like Gloria and Discotheque. In fact, EVERY album was represented.

Have a look at the previous tours and they all followed a very similar script, yes...even ZooTV. There were hardly any surprises as the tour went on, except perhaps a few occasions on Elevation. Popmart would have to be the most predictable setlist U2's ever done. I loved the tour but once you've had one show, you pretty much had them all.

This tour will undoubtedly be another Vertigo in terms of diversity so those who aren't completely satisfied with the first setlist may be pleased with other shows.

  8. The most important thing I would like to see is the band change the setlist every night (or really mix up the setlist order) rather than play some selected songs for the whole tour.

Ultraviolet and unforgettable fire are a great start, other than possibly moment of surrender , no real closer has been rehearsed, I think love is blindness would fit into the mix quite good.

Until the end of the world hasn't been rehearsed after being on every tour since 1991, and no bullet the blue sky, they do need a break i think. Pride, Sunday still haven't found.... and elevation should also be on that list.

With or without you i think fits with the NLOTH songs really good, a sort of homecomming, out of control, Zooropa, exit and the wanderer I reckon are screaming for inclusion.

  9. I don't agree whatsoever that Elevation should sit this tour out. I CANNOT wait to hear it!

  10. Like it too. Decent rocker which will get the crowd exciting live.
  11. What do you think of 07 u2.com video? Will NLOTH be the opening song?
