1. I'm still a massive fan. I haven't been able to sleep for a week already and so far Barca is costing me 800 euro specifically to see this gig so the crazy fan is still there and the cost doesnt bother me whatsoever. I know its gonna be immense. U2 and U2 live are completely seperate to me now though and if it aint Zooropa or NLOTH then live is always gonna win.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my feelings are after the Wembley gig (which should be my last year but Sheffield is cheap and could be thee gig of the tour I reckon so I might still go in which case i'll see how my feelings are after that show)
  2. Tell us how you lived the gig on June 30th Looking forward to it. U2 is still the band for me now, will never change. Can't wait to live the gigs in July in Amsterdam. And rehearsals are doing fine I think, I think we can safeley say that TUF and UV will certainly be played this tour.

After seeing the glockensipel being used speciffically in Electrical Storm in a U2.com video (after all it's the only real surprise they've unveiled, rest of the tracks were BD, NLOTH and Magnificent. uh), I think the chances to get Electrical Storm are 90%.

Don't worry, Gerard. I can hardly listen to any "normal" song, since a few days/weeks I'm only listening to rare&newest stuf.. Usually played this week: Exit, The Wanderer, No Line On The Horizon, Dirty Day, A Room At The Hearbreak Hotel, Stories For Boys, Like A Song, Unchained Melody, Silver And Gold, Acrobat, Please, Drowning Man, Magnificent, Bad...
Most played are Breathe, Tomorrow and UltraViolet.

and in fairness it was played at every gig from Zoo TV, Popmart and Elevation, so you can see why perhaps they wanted to give it a rest.

    totally agree with you there...

although IGWSHA is a nice touch even if it's quite low down on my list of Pop favourites!
  6. If God will send his angels
    Drowning man
    Bad (incomplete)
    Walk on
    Walk on (instrumental)
    Ultraviolet
Where the streets have no name (just the beggining, until Larry comes in )
Some bass chords reminding to Seconds
    No line on the horizon
In a little while / Rocket man (snippet)
The unforgettable fire / Strangers in the night (snippet)
    City of blinding ligths
    MLK
    Walk on
Where the streets have no name
    Ultraviolet
    With or without you
    Moment of surrender

That's some nice stuff - the whole rehearsals has been, and If God Will Send His Angels, hell yeah. Now if Bono has decent enough vocals like the Somerville performance, With or Without You could be interesting and possibly a Shine Like Stars snippet too; which makes the song 100% better.

Also remember the Obama performance with City of Blinding Lights, if that vocal continues in that top form...things might go off...Rocket Man as a snippet to In A Little While...that remains to be heard how well it might mix in.

About Electrical Storm...the beginning is nice, but the rest is just like Magnificent in every way.
  7. To all the Electrical Storm vs UV discussion, the answer is simple, keep both songs, eject Pride or Elevation.

And has anything been reported on how MoS sounds live? Is there additional guitar for example etc?

    +1
  8. What is the chance that a bootleg of the soundchecks exists somewhere? I desperately want to hear If God Will Send His Angels.
  9. not likely. trust me if there was one we would have had it long ago. there are some small clips here and there but im sure security is WAY tight.

  10. the prospect of that is cool, from a collectors point of view, but ultimately i think it's unnecessary. we'll soon have a slew of new boots and hopefully they'll play the songs they've been rehearsing

Absolutely. In fact, I don't want them to play WOWY if it doens't have Shine Like Stars and/or Love Will Tear Us Apart.
