Some CLASSICS just gotta stay, whether you want it or not.

The only thing I'm still curious about is whether they will really leave I Will Follow and Until The End Of The World. ...or if they're chicken shit and include them in order to exclude The Unforgettable Fire and Ultraviolet again ...
  2. Snippets only increase the chance of something being played live, right? Even more of a chance of hearing In A Little While...
  3. Just as a random aside, the video for Day 6 on U2.com asks what we think the top of the stage looks like...now maybe it's just because it's because we've been discussing Rocket Man and there's a link on the side that says that the stage looks like it came from a "giant space aquarium" and they say that the new show is ready to "take off", lol, but I think the part that they show looks like a shuttle liftoff.

And Breathe is sounding good, as expected.
  4. Nice to see that U2 are at least working on and considering songs deeper in the catalog like UltraViolet, Seconds, If God Will Send, Electrical Storm, Drowning Man... plus it looks like they are working on at least 8 or 9 of the new tunes from NLOTH.

Didn't someone say they'd only play hits? Didn't someone say that their best days were past? Weren't some comparing U2 to The Rolling Stones and their 'Hits' tours. Didn't someone complain that stadium show = 'the same ol' same ol'? That doesn't seem to be the case now, does it?

But that is what happens when the cynical judge a tour by a rehearsal or two instead of waiting to see what developes.
  5. Adams 6 day countdown clip is up on the official site . Breathe getting a run through !!

  6. please God, no, not the Rolling Stones!

EDIT: Breathe sounds pleasing on the day 6 video.

  7. Sorry, have to say it. The Rolling Stones have actually dug deeper and had more variety than U2 did on both Elevation and Vertigo last tour. U2 have pretty much turned into what you accuse the Stones of being, on the Vertigo and Elevation tours....

Stones played 78 different songs in 2002
    Compared to U2's 51 in 2001

    in 2005-06 U2 played 60 different songs
In the same two years the Rolling Stones played 82

Including, about 3-4 that had never been played before (from 84,1970 etc.) and many that had not been played since the late 70s or their 94-95 tour.
If anything they need to be MORE like the Stones.

    good insight
  9. So they start rehearsing between 8:30 and 9, usually?

Only an hour and a half-ish before we get out daily fix.

The stones have a much bigger catalogue of songs to pull from and no one goes to a Stones show hoping to hear something from the new album. I want to hear the NLOTH songs live. If they mix in an Ultraviolet or Seconds, great.

    this.

they have more songs, so logic denotes more songs will be played.

EDIT: back on topic, any word on today's proceedings?
