I'm glad that I'm not alone with this. This brings the total up to about four.

I know, my nine year old sister who has never heard of him before was on the phone with her freind yesterday, she said "Oh, I feel so bad for him." I wanted to tell her to shut up.

That usually happens when someone dies Sad, but true. If people don't like MJ, then it's no big deal, because everyone has different tastes. If they're being douchebags about it, then it's a different story, but I highly doubt Nick was being douchey

Same as when Michael Hutchence died, I remember. People hated the guy when he was alive, but when he died...they all came out crying and sobbing. The media made great fun of this man in his life, but now he's gone, they seem to love him. They'll forget in a week...The funny thing is, James Brown was about to do his shows and died one week before. Michael Jackson said ''I don't want to be like James Brown when he died''.

Ah well, you'll be hearing a lot of new material from him, I'm told from original demos to brand-new 2002 - 2009 material.
  5. Amazing. Who would have thought?

    Amazon.co.uk

Also on iTunes UK, 400 000 singles have been sold today, and over a million album downloads.
  6. Looking at his career, I was sure he died some time in the mid 90's. I understand the tragedy of his death in the abstract, but Prince was always a far more vital musician. Also, if I'd had as much money as he did, I wouldn't have paid some accuser off with $12 million - I'd have spent all my money proving that I hadn't done it. And look at the sales today - Hell of a business strategy...
  7. when I read flowerchild's sms this morning, I couldn't believe it. but the news on every tv and radio channel proved it really happened this is the saddest day for the generation that grew up with his music... my generation
he will always be remembered, and his music will stay with us for the rest of time.

    R.I.P. Michael
  8. We will definitely see some Michael Jackson snippets on June 30..

Bono did some great Billie Jean snippets back in the 80s.

  9. I was thinking about this right now...
  10. I was following this throughout the night since the story broke this side of the pond at half 10 or so last night - I'm not much of a fan of his music but I recognise the impact he's had on many peoples' lives and it was tragic, to say the least. I think it's safe to say he'll be deeply missed as a musician, a performer and last but far from least, as a human being.

    RIP.

    Indeed, exactly my thoughts.
