Nobody yet knows where they are gonna take this thing next year.
  3. I bet there would be some serious issues with security down there.

Security for the football world cup will be enormous as I heard, because there are kidnappings all the time and such stuff...
  4. No-one knows, maybe you get lucky this year.
    I wouldnt be surprised actually.
After all: South Africa got new and modern stadiums now, plus the security increased huge.
And it would be a nice test just before the WC
  5. I would be surprised if U2 didn't end up there eventually. They have gone to a lot of effort with the design and build (over 2 years) so I think they plan to tour with it extensively. Also as it is a 360 degree design it is not linked to any particular album which means it could be used for a number of years, even if additional material is created and/or released in that time.

It seems U2 are doing Europe, America and then taking Christmas off. Depending on how they are feeling I would imagine they will be recording and first half of 2010 or touring. If they decide to tour early-mid next year expect South Africa/Australian Tour dates. Then they wil hit up Europe/US again. Only then will they visit South Africa/Australia/New Zealand/Japan (Unless they came earlier)

I was thinking of something PopMart-ish...would that be possible?
A couple of shows in South America, a couple of shows in Australia, 2 in Japan and maybe 1 or 2 in South Africa...
    Or 6 legs
    one leg South America/South Africa
    One leg Australia/Japan...
