  7. How can you all be so sure UV was a good performance? It wasn't clear exactly. MoS on the other hand was much better quality and judging by it, Bono had little problem with his voice tonight.

    It was clear enough for the rest of us to get a feel fella - Bono's singing was the thing that was most evident, and it blew me away, the emotion he showed. Edge's guitar (SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE EXPLORER) was pretty clear; Larry and Adam seemed to blend into each other, but for the most part it gave enough of a feel
  9. Is it just me or is the setlist a disappointment? U2 was saying (in places like Rolling Stone) that they were going to really get put some standard songs to bed to play some new songs.

    For me, Bullet the Blue Sky and New Years Day seem to be the only two songs they decided to leave out... I would have been happy if they put Pride away for a bit, same for One, as well as either WOWY or Still Haven't Found. I mean... we've heard these songs for decades at each of their shows!

    From my "experience" of the concert (via the computer) Ultraviolet seemed to be the only moment that just transcended into glorious newness... that and The Unforgettable Fire returning.

    But for the most part, the show seemed to lack the intimacy of the Elevation Tour, as well as the sheer overwhelming impact of the Zoo TV tour.

    And this concerts answer to the technological playfulness on Zoo TV - the prank calls... the amazing "duet" with Lou Reed are:
    a link to the international space station that ends with an astronaut signing up for the 1 campaign

    and people parading in masks of Aung San Suu Kyi

    HUH? Seriously, that's just ridiculous.

    So, all said, I'm not really too impressed by this tour just yet. Let's hope for some more surprises.

    And hey - NOTHING FROM ZOOROPA? How long are they going to sleep on that album? With this setup, LEMON WOULD BRING DOWN THE HOUSE! I say Ultraviolet into Lemon!!!!!!

    Well, just listen to the bootlegs and visit a show and judge after that.

    Off the record: I'm hooked to that 'new U2-song' which is played as intro and outro on that U2360-trailer.

    I don't think that too many judgments should be made at this time
    I mean, this is only the FIRST concert of the tour
    I'm sure the setlist and the show itself will go through many changes by the time we reach the end
