1. Hi everyone!

With the new U2 tour just launched and with the enormous new stage design dubbed "The Claw" I have been thinking about comparisons between the different outdoor stage designs of this new tour and its predecessors such as Vertigo, Popmart and ZOO TV and even the Joshua Tree Tour.

For instance, it would be very interesting to see a picture taken from the same spot in the same stadium during some of these tours in order to get an understanding of the differences in size of the different stage designs. Imagine pictures from a stadium, if there is one, where U2 played on ZOO TV, Popmart, Vertigo as well as 360 where you are able to compare the stage designs. How cool wouldn't that be?

I have been thinking about collecting the facts and pictures in order to create a website on this subject. But first and foremost I would like to ask you all if anyone knows if there exists any websites on this subject? Does there exists pictures where, like I explained above, the pictures is taking from almost the same spot in the same stadium displaying the stages from different U2 tours?

By the way, I'm going to see our lads in Gothenburg on the 31th of August.

    Cheers!

  2. Welcome

Do you have your own special show then? (Seeing as last date of the leg is 22nd August in Cardiff....)

I know little about your question except to say this seems to be the largest yet. ZooTV and Popmart were similar size-wise and Vertigo was slightly basic and small in comparison.
  3. Its huge, it looks brutal, but on the other hand its quite small because except for the structure and the screen the stage is quite simple.

I like to think of it like a cross of Popmart and Elevation style wise.

    Oh sorry....I meant July....
  5. Heeeeeeello! Welcome to the forum

About your stage question... well, I can say you this: this is BIGGER than anything you can imagine. The Camp Nou is one of world's biggest stadiums, and The Claw made it look like a child's toy. Trust me, it is inmense, brutal, awesomely big.

On the other hand: it takes like half of the field, which wasnt the deal with ZooTV or PopMart, right?
And those weren't 50 metres high, at least PopMart wasnt...

This certainly occupies the biggest footprint, for sure.

How high was the arch on Popmart then? It was certainly higher than the old Wembley's roof.
