Yep id love this redone with new vocals and the tracks more like the live versions . It had so much potential but i think it was rushed out for the tour . Bad mistake by the band but maybe they will remedy it one day !

I hope it never gets remedied. The song remains the same. But remixes like that would be great.
  3. so... how much do we reckon this thing will retail at when it's released? same as the JT box?
  4. i'm pretty sure this UF remaster is slated to come out around the same time as the Achtung Baby remaster.
  5. it's about time
  6. I usually don't buy box sets of anything, but since UF is my favorite album, I might have to break down and buy it.

  7. Video & film footage

Did I hear someone say: Dortmund?

    And Live Aid?

Oh man, if TUF gets a boxset than AB, Zooropa and Pop should have one too
    With dvd's?
    AB - Stockholm 1992?
    Zooropa - Wembley 1993?
    Pop - Sarajevo 1997?
  8. These albums are recorded on DAT tape, and converting them to a digital medium wrecks the beautiful sound of the original releases. Sony is notorious for this and their so-called attempts at SACD and those releases. They are quite honestly, the worst sound I have experienced on anything.

The wall of sound technique can be a bad thing when used incorrectly. But on The Joshua Tree - the original version - it sounded beautiful and like an old 80s record, which always had natural sound. These new digital conversions just don't do the epic music that it is, justice and take away that old feel. Luckily they are not much louder (maybe a few dB) than those original recordings, so there is no sudden volume jumps or anything like that - music of today, anyone?

The Unforgettable Fire is a top-sounding recording and I'll be surprised to see if it comes close to the MFSL remaster or even better. I didn't like the Boy remaster at all. It clips badly when it shouldn't - see The Ocean for a great example - and War just sounded like it was coming through a tin. Don't even start me on October. I did like the 'new' cover but the rest was a total let-down.

Only in the last five years have I heard a handful of albums engineered so perfectly. If only all original releases and remasters sounded as good as the records from before the end of the 90s. Don't fuck this one up as bad as the last four.

Pop was recorded digitally so no need to remaster it. Would love to see Sarjaevo dvd though. Zooropa Wembley or Dublin 93
