Bono didn't voice anything but green was the colour of the song and there was some Iranian written messages on the screen throughout (none of which I could read as Iranian aint my language).

You can see it here. Check the first video out. A minute or 2 in : http://scatterolight.blogspot.com/
  2. Check out Sunday Bloody Sunday if you're at the show. First up, the previous song outros with a beautiful lilting vocal piece by (we discover) Iranian-born singer Sussan Deyhim. Then as the rhythmic opening bars of 'Sunday' arrive, the overhead spherical screens turn a luminous shade of green as farsi script script scrolls into sight. Is it a symbolic shout-out to the protestors in Iran demanding a re-run of their elections ? If you think there's a connection, discuss it

That's from U2.com... seems it is a tribute to us then...hmm, for once I wish Bono would have talked!! I hope he says something about it on the next shows...any good pics of the persian writing? I'm loading that video you posted Ger.

They mentioned something like that on U2.com, nothing specific but they were like suggesting that it might be referring to things happening in your neck of the woods - it would be more powerful if Bono actually brought it up than simply leave it out on a limb sort of thing...
