  2. It's indeed a small part, the cheaper tickets, the ones behind the stage. But much more are really high. In Amsterdam, the stands on the side were €80 with the vertigo tour, now double, € 160 per ticket, which is outrageous imo. Think all stadiums have this expensive part

    The cost of running the entire tour is expected to reach around 150 million euro.

    Personally I think they're entitled to put on their own show as they want, and given how quickly most of the gigs sold out it shows that it's a reasonable enough price.

    A Dublin GA ticket is 60 euro;
    - compare that to the 90 euro it will cost to see Bruce Springsteen this weekend (who has not tried to take stadium rock to a new level like U2 have with the Claw)
    - or compare it to Britney, recently in town who charged an extra 10 euro and doesn't even sing
    - or the Eagles, who charged 135 for their gig last week and didn't make an effort with the crowd once.
    - or any popular bands like the Kaiser Chiefs, the Killers, Snow Patrol etc. who can can expect to charge around 50 euro for a GA ticket, yet have no where near the same status (or setlist) as U2 and again don't create a stage that blows the mind.

    I think 60 euro is very reasonable in any such case.

    And while not Bono's biggest fan (he is a prat after all) I think he means well when he mentions the hard times, and only wants to let people know his thoughts go out for them. That might not seem much, but what else can he do in any such case?
  4. Don't think it helps to compare them with other bands but anyway... The Boss plays more than 3 hours, though. And he doesn't tell to you what you have to do.

    Again, I didn't criticize the prices per se - that would be a discussion on it's own - it's just that, to me the speech and the reality are drifting apart.

    Don't go then!!! That's the simple answer. Why do U2 continue to get grief no matter what they do. Some people are never happy

    What a lot of crap - so what if the timing is slightly out on one or two track. The Edge rarely makes mistakes - listen to the bootlegs over the years - tends to be Bono or Adam - very rarely the Edge.

    That is EXACTLY why we have noticed, and that's why we are (or I am) a bit worried...
  9. about the ticket prices; i think we all have a choice in this... i mean its YOU who make the decision to buy the most expensive ticket or cheapest. (wich with 30 euros is very very cheap!)

    and if you dont have the money than dont buy it... simple as that.

    but when you see that every concert is sold out then you can say people dont bother to pay 160 euros or so. i mean if people didnt bought it then was it a fiasco for u2 and they taked that risk! but i willing to pay for it

    botom line is i think is that if you are a fan, and you really wanna see them then buy the tickets because for a (worldclass)band that only comes ones in four years (average) i dont mind buying 160,- tickets.

    its worth every cent.....
