1. New topic: What is your opinion on giving beat cops M-16/M4 style rifles? I'm all for it. Anyone who doesen't agree with me only need to listen to the audio tapes of the North Hollywood Shootout.

how about just taking away people's rights to those fully automatic/semi automatic guns?

  3. Fuck that. It was rifle armed civilians, that actually managed to suppress the Texas clock tower shooter till police could take the bastard out. Like I said, I have studied up. Also, in the event of terrorist attack or a school shooting, it will be beat cops that will be the first responders, not a SWAT team. I'm a big fan of up arming cops. Aside, from giving them assualt weapons, I also think they should get higher caliber handguns. You shoot someone pumped up on adrenaline, or drugged up with a 9mm, he wont go down unless you get him in the head. A .45 will stop pretty much anyone on the first shot. There is a reason that Delta Force uses them.

I think you're missing the point I was trying to make: Why get in an arms race with the criminals? Why get in a pissing match to see who can have the bigger/stronger/more powerful gun? Why not go to the root of the problem and limit the rights of people to own guns? I know you'll disagree, but I'm just pointing out the opposite view.

Did you know that the states that have the least crime, are the ones with the least strict gun control laws? You know why? You ain't going to knock over a liquor store when everyone in it might be packing a Glock 19.

But if they can't own a weapon then they will have a pretty hard time robbing the store or whatever in the first place.

Seems that it might have more to do with income than gun laws....

The nation's more dangerous states, such as Texas, Arizona and Arkansas in turn ranked among those with a household income below the national median. For example, New Hampshire was one of the nation's wealthiest and safest state. New Hampshire's total crime rate was 57.9%; its violent crime rate was 64.1% and its homicide rate 69.1% below the national average. Connecticut, the nation's fourth wealthiest state, had a crime rate 27% and a homicide rate 52.7% below the national average. This contrasts starkly to some of the nation's poorer states such as Georgia, Florida or Louisiana. Louisiana had a crime rate 27% and a homicide rate 130.9% above the national average and ranked as the nation's fourth poorest state with a median household income 20% below the national median.

You dont need a gun to rob a store. You can use pretty much anything as a wepon with some practice. I know multiple ways to kill a man, using a pen. (don't ask)

  9. Here we go again. To every person who has evver claimed that they turned to crime because of there income, I say this: Get a job like everyone else, you lazy slobs!

I think we just switched topics here, but I wasn't suggesting that it was only income or laziness that leads someone to crime. I think it's a multitude of factors. (income, mental health, education, surroundings, etc.)
