Originally posted by Cypress:Hi, I rarely post here, but I just want to say that I was at both Milan shows and they were absolutely amazing. People who only read about the concerts or listen to bootlegs really get only half of the fun. You don't know what it's like when you're really there. These shows were among the best I've ever seen. The Italian crowd is absolutely amazing, it was a big celebration, a U2 and music lovefest. We were in row 1 at the catwalk for the first night, perfect place to enjoy the atmosphere. People were jumping up and down like crazy, everyone singing, wow. Night 2 was amazing, too, we had "seats" above the stage but no one were seating. People were singing and dancing. Now to enjoy the whole show with lights, visuals and effects, the seats are definitely the place to be. I haven't seen half of it when I was standing at the catwalk. The light show was just so amazing.
Milan first night was sweet, full of surprises, especially when Bono's daughter Eve came on stage, we were singing "Happy Birthday". They were playing Party Girl, which was fun, as always The Crazy remix really brought the place down, incredible. Stuck was premiered for the second light and the little accoustic set also included Electrical Storm. And Bono's voice truly is the highlight of these shows, it just blows you away. We couldn't believe how great his voice and singing is.
You don't really get a good impression of the show if you aren't there, it's just truly mindblowing. Of course they make little mistakes, they're human and not perfect, but I thought Milan was better than Barca, fans knew all the new songs, great atmosphere. Those who are/were in doubt of the beginning and ending, I can tell you, I wasn't sure about it either, but when Breathe kicked in and Bono came on stage, it was clear, that this was an awsome way to start the show. Also, MOS is beautiful, it's almost spooky. They played Ave Maria and Nessun Dorma as a tribute to Pavarotti after MOS (PA) and it was a really beautiful moment.
If you go to various shows I'd really recommend GA and seats, because you just have to experience it from different places. Seing the stage, the lights, the screen from the seats is really incredible, you don't really get that when you're there in the pitch.
Can't agree more with you. I was at first show, few meters away from the circle, in front of the Edge.
Now about Breathe. Very strange thing happened to me. Listening to Barcelona bootlegs I thought it sucks as opener, but when Larry started Breathe, tears just started bursting out of my eyes, it was that magical, I never felt anything like that in my life. The whole show was one big highlight, people were just waiting lyrics they could sing to, and jump and dance.
About Bonos voice. It's enough to hear what he did with that opera part at the end of Magnificent. Now I understand that bootlegs can lie sometimes.

Few pics I made:

P.S. Snow Patrol really, REALLY rocked, I couldn't believe that they're that good!

And I video taped WOWY:
I was focusing on crowd mostly so don't quit before watching last minute of video when song is already over.
