I just wanted to open a discussion about 'Sometimes you can't make it on your own'.
I think it's the most personal song bono/u2 have done, and the way Bono introduces this song by talking about his father. I bet many people across the world were moved by it and contacted a loved one who they had distanted themselves from.
Even the title is great- sounds like fatherly advise. I know many people when talking about u2 lyrics they think about One, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride etc but this song lyrically is up there with the best.
Any thoughts about this song? music, lyrics, anything?
Everyone I know loves this song, even if they're not into U2 at all. Both the music and the lyrics are great. It's like everybody has a realtionship with at least one person in his/her life like in the song, like the song was written about them.
