Any of those would be fantastic. Though it might not come with a separate DVD as they presumably want to keep focus and attention on a brand new DVD.

What was the first U2 album to be recorded digitally, or was Pop the first? If they're wanting to redo the whole back catalogue I would assume it goes up to Pop, and no point in doing ATYCLB or HTDAAB because they're not that old - but they've got some killer B-sides and other material each.
  2. I Hope Boomerang I and 60 Seconds in Kingdom Come are in it. Those are the ones i need most. I starting to get very excited
  3. Wow thanks, cant waite, got all of the remastered in each format..and will for sure get this 1 aswell..

  5. I have a question regarding sound, does anyone else have Achtung Baby that sounds really LOW compared to the other albums? Literally Even Better Than the Real Thing, One The Fly, MY need to be blasted to full on my speakers and then on other songs like SBS Pride Bad In a Little While every other album, it sounds way louder than anything on Achtung Baby and needs to turned down to halfway. I have bought AB plenty of times, LOL. itunes (back when it was 128 and i didnt know about sound) and then i rebought it over Xmas , CD (lost the cd) and then ive downloaded illegally they all sound really low. compared to even older albums like TUF War October. Why is this?

    from u2tour.de

While cleaning a bag from the Merchandising-Stand in Barcelona fell in the hands of the author of this text with this on the back: Coming October 2009 The Unforgettable Fire 25th Anniversary Edition
Beneath it is also written that there will be a Super Deluxe, Deluxe, CD, Vinyl and a Download Version with B-Sides, rare and unreleased songs as well as videos and movie footage.
But it is unknown if this information is relating on TUF or the old Remsters which are also shown on this bag. Looking on the photo it will have the size of TJT Box-Set.

(hope this is a good translation)

    This is amazing!

    Thanks friend

I can't wait to get it.

I'm also thinking about Achtung Baby. I hope to see something similar

    Greetings from Brazil!

I don't know the reason of this, but you're right. It happens with me too. I use to listen to it in a 15-level volume at my radio while I listen to others in a 11 or 12-level volume. I don't know if you got the idea hehe

Yeah this is what happens i think AB is naturally lower in volume Hahaha they need to remaster it ASAP.

  9. Agreed!

If they are doing the special versions of JT and TUF, I think (hope) they'll do with Achtung...and it will be great!

Sony is notorious for this and their so-called attempts at SACD and those releases. They are quite honestly, the worst sound I have experienced on anything.

The wall of sound technique can be a bad thing when used incorrectly. But on The Joshua Tree - the original version - it sounded beautiful and like an old 80s record, which always had natural sound. These new digital conversions just don't do the epic music that it is, justice and take away that old feel. Luckily they are not much louder (maybe a few dB) than those original recordings, so there is no sudden volume jumps or anything like that - music of today, anyone?

The Unforgettable Fire is a top-sounding recording and I'll be surprised to see if it comes close to the MFSL remaster or even better. I didn't like the Boy remaster at all. It clips badly when it shouldn't - see The Ocean for a great example - and War just sounded like it was coming through a tin. Don't even start me on October. I did like the 'new' cover but the rest was a total let-down.

Only in the last five years have I heard a handful of albums engineered so perfectly. If only all original releases and remasters sounded as good as the records from before the end of the 90s. Don't fuck this one up as bad as the last four.

I think War remastered is miles ahead of the original, much more listenable.
  11. Not sure if this has been posted before:

    From @u2

During a BBC radio interview, Bono & Edge played an unreleased song that will feature on the remaster.

It was originally called White City, but has been renamed to Disappearing Act (similar to Wave of Sorrow it has new vocals dubbed over the old instrumental track)

    Youtube clip of the excerpt

I think its interesting, like the guitar.

Heard that the other day. The only thing I'm not liking about some of the remastered stuff so far (including that disappearing act song) is that they're adding present day vocals to it. I guess it's cool to "finish" what they started a long time ago, but I think it would be better if they left it in the time they made it, rather than try to finish it now, when their outlooks on music is different.
