1. Greetings to you fine folks here at U2Start!

I first starting listening to U2 in earnest in the early days of 2007. I fell in love with U2's music after witnessing a youtube video of Where The Streets Have No Name (Live at Slane Castle).

I first found the site back in 07 while searching endlessly for some Live U2. When i first found the site i was stoked beyond belief. U2!? Live!? 1000+shows!?. right then my Bullshit-o-meter went nuts and i figured that the site had some sort of malicious force behind it.

Eventually my addiction to U2 won the epic battle of wills with my cautiousness and i came back and created an account and haven't stopped downloading.

lets face it. This site kicks ass!

Even though ive been hanging around the site like a vulture i never really bothered to get involved with forums, ive had bad encounters with flame wars on other sites. I recently started posting in topics so i figured i should finally introduce myself.
  2. hello and welcome nice intro there, enjoy this place, and welcome to the family
  3. Hi friend

    How are you?

Perfect words about the site haha

    Welcome here

    Greetings from Brazil

  4. haha thanks. indeed the one of the most pleasantly surprising aspects of the site was the lack of flame wars, and the lack of rude people inhabiting the forums

Let's let Gerard explain to him that the brilliant intro is ruined after Bono starts singing...

    Welcome aboard

you might wanna avoid the political topic then...

but hey, welcome to U2start! You're going to love it here, it's basically my 2nd home (sometimes I wish it was my first haha). The bootleg selection here is amazing, and while you're in the midst of a great tour, it's gonna be wacky here. I think there was like 200 users or so online when the tour kicked off, which was CRAZY. Speaking of crazy, I suppose you've heard the remix version of "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight"? The videos section is also pretty darn sick. We offer DVDs and even iPod-ready videos! The photos section is probably one of the best on the web, and for the 360 tour pix we already have 285! Quite a selection to pick from for your desktop, I think I have Bono in the LED suit for mine

And of course, Welcome to the forums! The main reason why this place is my second home. Everyone here is great, and I'm sure they'll give their welcome when they can.

    Anyways, welcome to U2start!!
  8. oh God the worst with streets is on the vertigo tour when bono starts chanting about Africa and how he attempts to make vague geological references between continents which ends up sounding like

im all for helping people, but my god, say that BEFORE the song

I think he's saying stuff before the song (for once and THANK GOD) Beautiful Day on this tour, which got a different intro for this round, it sounds pretty good. As for Bono talking, I have a saying for him:

SILENCE IS GOLDEN, DUCT TAPE IS SILVER

Welcome, watching Streets from Slane on TV made me the obsessive fan I am today.
