Originally posted by U2NickYou just need to watch it a couple of times to understand it. It didn't click for me until the end of the second viewing. The song doesn't represent a bunch of high school kids partying (which is how I first thought of it), but it shows how most people are just used to hardship, or "crazy" times. It becomes their normal. So, "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" means that if the person who is used to hardship, etc. fell under a period of wonderful times, they may not know what to do, they would have forgotten how to have fun. The video also shows how people need other people to get through bad situations. Happiness is an emotion too.It also urges people to not grow up too fast, when the boy in the train sees the tired old man, then sees himself becoming that man, then runs away.
