  1. So far they started virtually every show in daylight, so why should they suddenly bother? Apart from that, Dublin isn't the 1st show with a curfew, U2 even had to pay a fine in Barcelona.
    So it's not just the city of Dublin who is the partypopper like the article suggests.
  2. SATURDAY NIGHT AT CROKE

    I read all the news reports and the main word used seems to be AWESOME.......ehhhh, I wouldn't go as far as saying that. This is the 5th time I've seen U2 - they were good but not awesome. Did anyone notice the guitar issues Egde was having in Mysterious Ways and also Where the Streets Have No Name - was disappointed as I love the sound from the envelope filter that is used in Mysterious plus all I hear in Streets was the background keyboard and Adams bass - certainly no sound issue with him. Also, Bono, the Unforgettable Fire - a classic - we were all singing and you messed up the lyrics after the solo - was a bit disappointed. They mentioned the other shows were rehearsals - unfortunately it seemed a bit more of a rehearsal is required. A poor opener - Breathe. Kaiser Chiefs opened their show better. No Line in the Horizon was the song to open with. Poor encore - it was like you were putting us all to bed with Moment of Surrender. Ultra Violet was fantastic in terms of performance and stage show though. Maybe I prefer the heavier rock songs like Exit. Until the End of the World (pity they didnt play this on Sat as they did on Fri), The Fly, Bullet the Blue Sky - what tunes - are they dead and buried??????? Star songs on Saturday where No Line in the Horizon, Get on Your Boots, Beautiful Day, Vertigo, Ultra Violet and although I'm not a big fan of it on the album, City of Blinding Lights was very very good. How could you leave out Running to a Standstill -arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggg!!!!

    In summary they were good 7.5/10 - 23 songs with no memorable breaks in between, but Zoo TV will never we surpassed - I'm glad I witnessed that tour though!

    Sorry to disagree with you I have seen U2 on every tour since 1982, they have got better and better with every tour. Breathe was definately the track to open with I thought this got the crowd into it straight away. I thought the band were awesome and the stage show was something else. Yes okay a couple of technical glitches but that certainly didn't spoil my experience on Saturday night.

    I dont think he has been wearing it. He certainly wouldnt wear it in Dublin. Too much abuse haha

  10. Yeah they're at every show.

    Dublin was hilarious, a girl came on stage without a mask! She looked hot so we were all pointing at her and making photos. Then she got a mask from someone of the audience, and then the more funnier thing happened: she forgot to walk back! She just kept standing still.

    Then someone of security touched her and told her to walk back.

    Hilarious.

    Glad you noticed the technical hitches because the press and every other Irish reporter who wants to be on the 'They were Awesome' band wagon seemded to have missed it. If in a few years time you watch this tour again on dvd I would advise you to watch the opening songs on other recent tours:

    Zoo TV - Zoo Station - still the best opening and best intro song on any tour I've ever seen!
    Pop Mart - Mofo - what a stadium tour tune! Loud and intense!
    Elevation Tour - Elevation - crowd went crazy and sang WHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOO!!!
    360 - Breathe - just OK - not lyrically well known by the crowd though as was very evident.

    Still a great night on Saturday though - I've seen them better in my opinion. Work colleagues all agree. One guy in work really annoyed by the 'lack of strength' in the encore - he has seen them since 1984 too so I have to respect his opinion, although we all agreed that Ultra Violet was fantastic!!!

    This tour just needs a little bit of tweaking to be labelled AWESOME. Hopefully they can do it in the coming months as I still think their back catalogue is awesome - it just needs to be shown.

    Yeah, but it seems always in Dublin itselves they have problems with rules and regulations, but ok, not every Irish is off course U2 fan and seen the mess left behind in the Amsterdam GA queue, can imagine somehow some complaints, note sure if there are also airbeds, boats etc
