1. Oh, and I was wondering, I've just seen these in Dublin...what the hell are those flower looking things on stage? (NYD vid is up, shows these).

    Rain covers

  3. Got it. That's not so bad, then...I was hoping they weren't there just to serve some sort of aesthetic purpose, haha.
  4. Just saw this on CNN.com

    http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-304843

not sure if it's already posted somewhere or this is the right place for it...but thought someone besides me might be interested.
  5. and still no recording from any Dublin show...
  6. Great set! Good to see NYD finally returning, and STAY, I love that song so much.
Was expecting them to bring Electrical Storm back, but obviously they don't think it works well.
And good to see ONE back at the spot where it belongs, it just didn't feel right in the first half of the show. The segue from SBS to Bad is one of the best U2 have ever done, I understand they're not shaking that one up.
I also understand people wanting more setlist diversity and maybe drop certain songs, but I don't think fans who see one or two shows care much for what U2 played before in a different city or what they'll play for their next shows, they just want to have a great evening of great music, and some of their "staple" songs just bring the audience down. I wouldn't want to have a set without Beautiful Day, it's a song full of joy for me and the audience love it. Also, the transition between Crazy and SBS is amazing. And there are few things more magical than hearing the crowd sing along to Still Haven't Found. I totally understand why U2 is keeping these songs.
A little disappointed they didn't add anything to the encore, but obviously they weren't allowed to play longer this time.
Still a very good set. Can't wait for my next show on Monday.
  7. Ok, i have been reading this forum for about 2 months now and never posting. To be honest never really feeling compelled to post. Today is different.

First up, last nights show was better than Slane and better than the last time i seen u2 in Madison Square Garden. they were my previous 2 best shows.

I was in the pit on Friday, in the Cusak stand on saturday and then in the Davin stand last night (the 33€ tickets!!!). Last nights seat in my view was the best of all, probably the best in the house. I could see Croker rocking and the sound...I coulnt believe it...the sound way back there was amazingly clear!

I was one of those (up until saturday) who was starting to become disillusioned by the current lack of mixing the set up. But after seeing that i can completely see why they dont. Everyone who complains about it is wrong. We watch too many youtube clips of the songs, where you dont really feel the power and what is going on in the stadium. Its not the same. All the was from SBS to One last night was truely special. And then they played Bad. I had to hand my camera over to my brother because i just couldnt hold it up anymore- i had to pay attention!

New years day, the Unforgettable Fire, Unknown Caller and Stay were just amazing. Apart from the usuals that always stay in the set, over the 3 croke park gigs they played something like 12 or 13 different songs! Every night i giggled at something new they played. And as for that stage, words fail. It is truely revolutionary and i am happy to report that it does work! It made me (in the Davin Stand in Croke Park- 50 metres away) feel like i was watching a club gig!

Finally, people constantly critisize u2- that comes as part of the best band in the world title. On most of the u2 forums up until now some hardcore fans have even been crtisizing them. However, yet again, they have shown to know what they are doing and proved everyone wrong in my eyes. There is not one single band on the face of this earth that could have pulled off that show last night like that, not one!! Stop looking at endless youtube video's, stop postulating that Bono’s voice isn’t the same as when you heard him in Paris in 1921, stop reading the setlists that are posted up, that always look the same. Wait and go to the gig. After you have heard for yourself..LIVE....then make up your mind!

Thanks lads, just when I started to doubt, you shut me up!!!

How many shows apart from A'dam have you been to?
  9. No mistakes in Croke 3. Croke 3, was a mile better than amsterdam. By far it was the best on the tour so far. Best gig in ireland in the last 3 tours!! I Sh*t you not!

  10. Good point, but listening to bootlegs from previous 360 shows Amsterdam is excellent. Almost all the others have little flaws or are not that energetic or a combination of both. Might just be me. I like Milan I and II though, just for the sound quality and some speciific performances (Crazy and UV on Night I), but Bono messes up with SBS there for example).

Like I said, havent heard anything from Croke shows yet. There isnt a bootleg yet. I think they might be better only because the setlists are slightly better (first night is same as Amsterdam II, but with TUF)

Ok, now I'm serious off for a week.

Honestly, comparing a show one has been to, to shows one has listened to on bootlegs is the old apples and oranges thing.
To really judge a show you must have been there. Otherwise you could also watch porn and say you just had sex.

I'll never get the "the show I've been to was the best"/"the show in my country was the best" thing anyway...

    Speaking about apples and oranges...

Like I said you have a point. Is something between my ears/that I've been there that I like them so much then. I'm sure there will be better gigs by the end of the tour
