1. Hello,

This is my first (and unfortunately somewhat selfish!) post on these forums.
I have a simple question that hopefully some of the users here (who have attended shows) can answer.

What time (if at all consistent) have U2 been taking the stage on this tour?

My reason for this question is that my fiance and I are fortunate enough to be arriving in London at noon on 15Aug2009 for the show to be held at Wembley that night.

We are arriving at approximately 11am local time and ticketmaster.co.uk shows the following time schedule:

    Doors 16:00
    Support (TBC) 17:30-18:00
    Glasvegas 18:30-19:30
    U2 20:00-22:30

Have U2 been consistently taking the stage that the quoted times or a bit later?

I have 2 friends (from UK and France) meeting me in London and (with an assigned seat) I don't want to show up needlessly early.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Welcome to the site

I think this would probably fit in another topic, but no harm in letting it run as a welcome topic for you I guess.

In my experience in the UK, the stage times will be pretty accurate. The listed time does seem slightly early (usually 8.30 to be off for 11pm) but it's going to be vaguely right. You want to be there at least an hour before to a) look at merchandise / supporting acts and b) soak in the atmosphere with the pre-U2 songs, last minute fixes to stage etc.

Plan to be there 6.30 - 7pm and you'll be fine.

    Enjoy
  3. I cant speak for Wembley but the times you posted look on the early side.

In Amsterdam they started at 21.30 (9.30pm)

Strict Wembley curfew of 11pm though.

I think it will be 8.30pm, that's usual for UK.

Sorry! Thanks for the quick reply
  6. I think you may find the curfew at Wembley Stadium is 10.30pm,just like Twickenham in 2005....hence the..'..they don't give the Rugby any shit'... quote before Yahweh

Thanks for the advice. If I hadn't waited in line for the final (Miami) Elevation show, I wouldn't have seen Larry drum for Garbage (Only Happy When It Rains). I guess it all depends on the quality of sleep I get flying US-UK.

This issue of timing never came up for me before as I always had GA/floor tickets for the previous 3 tours and waited in line for ~12 hours beforehand!

More residential around Twickenham though. Wembley is a little more isolated. The curfew at Muse was 11pm.

Bit concerned if it's 10.30 that 3/4 of the show will be in the daylight.....

Cardiff will be 10.30pm as well I think but having seen Amsterdam it does seem possible they may be able to shut the roof. Blackness for the whole show
  9. For Wembley 2,15th August....

    Doors 16:00
    Support (TBC) 17:30-18:00
    Glasvegas 18:30-19:30
    U2 20:00-22:30

    All times subject to change.

    .....from LiveNation's website....
  10. Barca 2200
Paris 2115 (if i remember correctly)
    Dublin 2045

    all shows were about 2h15
