1. Hi everyone!

I just wanted to recomend to anyone who is even a casual Green Day fan (as I WAS) to check their new tour out. They are unreal live. Billie Joe had Madison Square Garden rockin for a little over 3 straight hours! The setlist was amazing spanning EVERY album plus a ton of great covers and snippets. Check them out it is definitely worth it. They pulled about 10 different people on stage to play instruments , sing and even forced a kid to stage dive! Amazing stuff. Here is the setlist they played when I went on July 28, 2009 at MSG:

    2.21st Century Breakdown
    3.Know Your Enemy
    4.Murder City
    5.East Jesus Nowhere

  2. 40 songs in three hours sounds good. They're coming to Australia, I think sometime this year. The show is better than their last album?

This was my first Green Day concert. I have only seen a DVD concert of their last tour so its unfair to compare but the show was worth every penny. It was amazing i must say and they really blew me away. I definitely recomend you seeing them if their around your area. The new songs were awesome live and hearing stuff from 1039 and Kerplunk was great.

The early stuff is where you wanna be. American Idiot wasn't bad at all either. Depending on if I can get myself tickets then I shall be checking it out.

Aye, if you're a casual fan you can still really enjoy a few hours of rock. I remember seeing the Live8 performance and that was awesome and the Bullet In A Bible DVD too was pretty damned good. Now I gotta find out when tickets are going on sale.
  5. I consider myself a casual fan because I never seen them live and even though I own all their cds I never really listened to every song. As you can see the setlist touched every album and was amazing. Jesus of Suburbia was worth th price of admission alone tbh. I hope you get a chance to see them!
  6. Are they coming anywhere relatively close to VA? I really would love to see them Green Day is great
  7. i heard that the Kaiser Chiefs front man broke his ribs Tuesday night when they were the support act

  8. I heard HTDAAB sounds like Green Day so... no thank you.
  9. its like AI part 2...
  10. Sell outs. I have no problemn with their new music, but they should stop pretending to be punk, as they really arent anymore.

  11. Do they embrace the punk genre still? As far as I know, it's just fans that expect them to be the exact same they were in 1996.

Exactly. Bands evolve. Every band can "technically" be called a sell out. Ipod commercial is selling out but who cares?! Cant fault a band for making money and their music evolving with age. Whether their punk or not Ive never seen a front man so involved with an audience before for 3 hours and Ive been to over a hundred concerts. Anyway all my intention was to recommend a live show to people not start a debate if their punk or not
