Not really, there were some people who had balloons with them, but nothing happened.
Maybe minority of die hard fans...

Gosh that was FUN!!! We did like 20 Mexican waves before the show kicked off. People were going crazy when Space Oddity started. Patrol were quite good, but not excellent. Then Larry entered the stage, the rest of the band followed him. He started playing drums and then it all fucked in lol. I head great seats with great view. The sound was excellent, even though I had little trouble hearing Bono at times. U2 were excellent from the very beginning, though the crowd got really going with Beautiful Day and Mysterious Ways, after those songs everyone was standing, clapping and singing until the very end. The band nailed every tune. It was a pitty the screen didn't fully work, but nevermind, the lightshow was spectacular anyway. Hopefully there'll be a high quality recording up soon.

I have to say, I'll be bummed if this happens to me in Cardiff.

Don't Stop Til You Get Enough snippet in Mysterious Ways it was indeed. A girl from the crowd danced on the stage. And when U2 finished the song, the whole stadium shouted her name "Simona! Simona!"

4 stars for Matthias' recording seem a little too optimistic to me btw.
