The album has really aged beautifully. It just gets better and better with age. When it came out I only really liked a few of the songs but these days Pop is in my top three with Achtung Baby and Zooropa.

i love that decade, it should be called

    "U2: The 1990s Trilogy"

Achtung Baby = Episode I: A Zoo Hope

Zooropa = Episode II: The Wanderer Strikes Back

Pop = Episode III: The Return of the Mofo

--- I think "The Wanderer Strikes Back" sounds better but "The Lemon Strikes Back" would be more consistent. (Zoo Station & Mofo are show openers, Lemon is an Encore-opener). whaddya think...
  2. No but PopMuzik was played on POPmart, so it kinda counts.

how about a lord of the rings trilogy theme :

actung baby : the fellowship of the fly

zooropa : the zoo towers [or the two lemons]

pop : return of the mofo [there is nothing else really for this one]

You're mixing music connoisseurs with the masses. The masses should be more open minded but naturally they're not. They lack the musical knowledge that enables open mindedness.

Are you certain that you would have? I mean it's easy to think/say so in retrospect...

Nope, i heard POP tunes long before i was a music buff, and would still easily choose them over practically anything on HTDAAB, which i often bite my tongue not to refer to as 'crap'.

I know what you mean. I liked HTDAAB a lot more when it came out but now I very very rarely bother to listen to it. I enjoyed the possibility to listen to a new U2 album, that was the main fascination of it. But it pretty soon wore off. With POP, I only liked a few songs from it when it came out but since then it has evolved to one of my favourites. It's an U2 album I listen to most along with Achtung Baby and Zooropa.

  11. Is there a video for MOFO? I've been looking for it. And if so, what version of the song was used for the video?
