Today my boyfriend got the news that his uncle, wich he stands very close to, has HIV. My boyfriend has been crying and had breakdowns the whole day (he already suffers from depression) and I don't know what to do. I've talked a little to him but now I can't get any contact. I will pray for him and his uncle, but I'm just so worried about how my boyfriend is feeling. We live very far from each other so I can't visit him. I'm just so bad when it comes to stuff like this cause it's never happened to me. I just want him to know that I love him and are there for him but he don't answear the phone or text messages.

Dear Alexxthefool...I'm sorry to hear your boyfriend and his uncle got such bad news...and therefore you as well. But please know that HIV is not a leathal disease anymore since good medicine are at hand. Your boyfriend's uncle will actually have the same average life expectation as the rest of us. I'm sure the doctors will tell this to him and it'll be only a matter of time till your boyfriend is able to talk to you. Just give him some time. It'll work out fine, I'm sure... We all have are moments in which we are a stuck...for a little while. Untill then I wish you strenght and good faith.

I know that about Hiv, I'm mostly worried about my boyfriend because he already suffers from depression and I don't like when he get this upset and have breakdowns.

Hey Alex, that's awful news. It's hard when you try your best to help someone when he doesn't answer, and particularly your own boyfriend. I believe he'll get to his old himself after a while, it takes time. Then he will tell you he appreciates your efforts, believe me. He will show his love for you again. Just stay strong. Hopefully things can get back to normal then. You'll be in my prayers.

Hi Alex. That sounds really tough on you and I hope this will work out okay.

From my experience of working with people who are going through a bad time, all you can do is make your support known to them. Most of the time it'll be greatly appreciated on their end, knowing that they have someone to turn to, a shoulder to lean on. I think you've shown your support for your boyfriend and I'm sure that, in his own time, he'll approach you about how he's feeling.

In the meantime how are you holding up yourself?

Thank you all for your kind words, I got in contact with my boyfriend again in the night and he was feeling better even thou he's still worried about his uncle from who they still haven't heard any more news.
