I've been to both of the mentioned venues and the closed roof turns the stadium into a sauna, breathing on GA gets a little uncomfortable, the claw disappears in the roof construction and looks rather ordinary. And most important: the closed roof kills the sound.
So how anyone can praise a stadium with a closed roof is beyond me. Might be okay for sports - but certainly not for concerts.

Certainly made it a bit 'echoey' at Vertigo.
I kinda hope it's open but I suspect they'll close it to take advantage of the light.....

anyway, back OT. Wembley tonight. Can't believe it's here and Leg 1 is almost over already...

totally agree. I don't see the benefit or advantage of a closed roof for a concert.
if it's because of rain only, I wouldn't mind that one.

With the stupid UK curfews, I do.

You're also assuming they can get the roof shut in Cardiff - not a foregone conclusion, although with it having been shut in Gelsenkirchen and Amsterdam it does now seem more likely.

Of course light will be an issue, why wouldn't it be? It's going to be broad daylight for half the show, and that just sucks, unfortunately.

It will be broad daylight for apporx 45 minutes. If not a little less. ie until about the end of Beautiful Day.

Never affected any UK gig I've been to. Slane and recent Dublin gigs hardly suffered. Neither did Muse 2 years ago.
  7. It's strange to see the show beginning and closing so early, it will be daylight for most of the show.

One really good thing about Zagreb was that these shows were the only ones of the tour so far that actually started out in almost complete darkness which was very cool.

Barcelona and Poland were completely dark, as were (I assume) the closed roof shows
  9. Parts of NLOTH and Magnificent soundchecked so far.

Edit: Also Beautiful Day, Mysterious Ways, boots, end of the world.

  10. In Barcelona, they began at 10. I don't know about Poland, but in Amsterdam and Gelsenkirchen, light was still coming in through the roof, so it wasn't completely dark. In Zagreb, it was dark at 9 because the city is much more in the south than most other cities they played in and it was August already. I think the Claw really comes to life when it's dark for the start of the show. The moment the house lights go out during Kingdom is just magical.

They've been pretty predictable this tour
