1. If you look the only one to be truly in the middle will be Norman Oklahoma, 10/19. I think with the sight lines and the way the claw will dominate the stadium..... Maybe? Long Shot?

    - My first time seeing U2 (actually my 1,5 time )

Same here mate I think there's a chance, if the setlists are identical over both days then the chances grow even higher, but y'never know. I'd like to see them just record one show, warts'n'all, and stick that on a DVD, to hell with Hamish and his directing lark, we just want a record of a gig for posterity, and the better the gig, the better the DVD.

    Amen to that
  4. Sorry for the doublepost... but this is something I wrote in the Tour rumors thread..

Actually come to think of it U2 are going to come to Australia because this is the obvious place for them to film the concert DVD.

I know we have the Zoo TVin Sydney but I think that the MCG in Melbourne is the obvious place to record from...

For starters the Stadium seats 100,000 people which is more than any other stadium used so far and thats not counting people on the field. Secondly the stadium itself is so you can stick the claw in the middle and it will be brilliant. Image this place with the claw in it!

  5. I guess we'll know about Wembley later?.....

I'm thinking it might be like ZooTV and it will be right at the end of the tour, when they're perfectly polished although the lack of a leg 1 or 2 DVD from that tour is a shame...). And Popmart I guess......

Goes to figure, because the stage is the same in both legs, unlike Elevation and Vertigo
  6. No obvious sign of extra cameras tonight, so I guess its a no for Wembley. Can't see it being Sheffield as its layout of seating in the stadium is nowhere near as impressive as the likes of Wembley, Milan , Paris and Barca etc, although due to the radio broadcast they will probably have decent enough sound recording equipment in there to do the DVD soundtrack.

Maybe the Sheffield gig will be a U2.com membership CD in 2 years time

Indeed. I think it was Remy who asked the camera operator when they were doing a DVD, and he said they put one together for every night. All the dolly shots make the footage absolutely beautiful.

What do they do with all these left over taped shows? burn the tapes?

Would be so great if they would have released every one of them in their respective countries or something like that... I know, only in my dreams right

But really, looks like first leg is out of consideration?
in the 2nd leg, New York is the most probable location imo

I could imagine some kind of smaller Tv broadcast version from 2nd leg and then an official DVD from an european show in the summer of 2010, possibly Barcelona, Madrid or an UK gig
  8. My pet theory which is probably completely implausible, but would be really sweet, is that they're taping lots of things, and would make a concert DVD of performances all over the world...the premiere of Electrical Storm from Barca 2, New Year's Day from Poland, Bad/UTEOTW/Elevation from Amsterdam 2 or Dublin 1, The Unforgettable Fire from Dublin 1, another WOWY with Shine Like Stars, Stay from Berlin, etc. I think it'd kinda fit with the 360 theme (all over the world), but would have to happen late in the tour. Probably not going to ever happen, but it'd be neat. (Idea kinda came from Hillsong United's I Heart Revolution CD and DVD...)

I agree. In U2.com there's a lot of pro-videos of several dates so far. But I think they have a lot of releases for the next months and there is the fact first legs, US or Europe, usually are not as good as eventual legs. I mean, even Joshua Tree Tour and Zoo TV were short setlists at the begining, and their highlights were ideas which developed later.

  10. i wish to point to everyone, on the train home tonight, i spoke to a few fans who were in 1 row from the front, and they said there were more cameras than the other shows they went to, they noted at least 5 more cameras than normal, and i noticed a couple from where i was sitting, i knew there was gonna be alot of cameras but not as many as i saw!

and another fan said a techy let loose that the shows setlist was being altered slightly/ worked better for future reasons?

plus as i waited for u2 to arrive to the stadium, i swear on my mothers life i saw hamish hamilton wanderin around!

he'd certainly have to check out a show or 2 before planning on filming one. All the signs so far suggest no DVD of Wembley
