1. Originally posted by WojBhoy:Well, let me just say this - if that was to be the only U2 gig I ever see in my lifetime, it'll do me fine. From where I was on the pitch (front leg, Edge's side) the atmosphere was simply electric, and I'll never forget the sight of 90,000 people all on their feet singing ISHFWILF. Everything about the gig was special for me; I mean, I've listened to hundreds to boots by now but nothing prepared me for the real thing. Having seen Dallas warming up using the SG after Elbow had finished, I didn't figure Mysterious Ways was gonna have a look in but wow, didn't it just - that took me by surprise and some. I'm still mindfucked. The band were on fire and from where I was (like I said) the whole place was on fire, and I couldn't get enough of it. I was seriously worrying about having a hernia by the time UV came around and I think WOWY was a contender for best in recent years - sure, no Shine Like Stars but Bono was visibly moved by the crowd and it was just sheer epicness (I don't care if that's not a real word lol). And oh yeah - STREETS WAS INCREDIBLE. Great little segue from Walk On.

There was a lot of echo but hey, it's Wembley, it's a giant echo-chamber lol. Was digging the Acquiesce snippets too, only now do I find out NG was in the house. Liked The Hours a lot, will have to check them out in more detail (lead singer got a bit drowned out by the guitars and bass, kinda made me think of Muse on speed or something) and Elbow were everything I had hoped they would be. By the by, if anyone caught my Twitter feed I saw someone about 3-4 people ahead of me wearing a "Chris Martin is a w*nker" t-shirt which I a) thought was genius and b) wondered whether it was one of our merry community? White shirt, orange text (I only saw the back).

I can't think of many better ways to pop one's U2 cherry. I seriously can't wait for Sheffield. I'll go through my pics soon and browse through for any good ones, or even perhaps just the whole lot regardless of quality.

    EDIT - [..]
Quite early, I arrived at about half 3 and the queue was damn long, got a spot near one of the Claw's legs though.

I followed your tweets and was thinking about you a lot yesterday, harry I don't know, I was just happy for you, I guess. great to read you had such a good time! I didn't doubt you'd have u2 are just one hell of an experience, especially the first time.
  2. First time i've seen them. I entered Wembley and i was speechless. So big and yet so small (damn that Claw is a giant!). Goosebumps all the time. The only thing negative was Bono's voice. He sounded like he sniffed helium or something but when i look back to the things i recorded with my small compact camera i can hear that his voice is outstanding. Edge's guitar was on fire!! so f*ckin' loud! i've been waiting for the Eurostar from 2am 'till 7am. It was a long night but it was worth it.

PS: is there going to be a dvd (amateur) and/or bootleg?

oh and btw thanks for making this site! it helped me alot.

(sorry for my english, especially the last sentence xD)
  3. Bono sounds fine on the videos at youtube. He actually sounds a lot better than he has been sounding. He didn't sound as hoarse.

Ahaa, thanks Jana sorry I didn't reply to any of you guys on Twitter, I was only updating via. text, I didn't know whether my phone could manage it or not, hence why I only saw everyone's Tweets to me when I got home last night. It was fantastic.

My thoughts exactly - I felt he sounded as good as he has this tour, if not best of the tour, but that's simply opinion
  6. End Of The World and NYD soundchecked
  7. last night was amazing....!! thats all i can say really.! definitely the best i've seen them (after Popmart Leeds which lets be fair could never be topped!)

great atmosphere, great sound, bono's voice was great, amazing show etc etc etc

my only complaint was no end of the world but i guess they'll be playing that tonight.

    cant wait for Cardiff now!

  8. From everything I've heard and seen Wembley I seems like it was an amazing show. Oh how I wish I could have been there. Sadly, my tour ended with the last show in Zagreb.

I've seen some You Tube clips and must say Bono sounds amazing. Having heard him in person I must say his voice and singing is really in very good shape and form this tour.

I hope they'll play Bad and Until the end of the world tonight. I liked Mysterious Ways after One, there was a song missing in the encore in Zagreb. I am glad they are keeping the Tutu speech after Streets and before One, where, IMO, it belongs.
  9. According to the speakers at Wembley, yesterday's attendance was 84,000.

Other rumour: White as snow rehearsed according to people in queue

that would still be a record but quite a bit of the touted 88,000 (which I think is still below capacity)
  11. the audio from those youtube clips makes me kinda grateful I didn't go. U2gigs say the roog is open wider tonight, hopefully letting some of the echo out
  12. Setlist has been spotted. Some surprises to be expected it seems.
