1. Best U2 albums, perfect:
    1. Achtung Baby
    2. Unforgettable Fire
    3. Pop
    4. Joshua tree
    5. Zooropa
    6. War

Great Albums, for more than one listening, although not as good as the ones above:
    7. No Line on the Horizon
    8. Boy
    9. Rattle and Hum

One of the most important rock concerts and moments:
    10. Under a Blood Red Sky

Can't really say anything, not my preference:
    11. October

Awful, commercial and mainstream, not U2 at all:
    12. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
    13. All that you Can't Leave Behind
  2. 1) Joshua Tree - I've listened to the Joshua Tree at least once a week for the last 20 years!!!
    2) Achtung Baby - Best album of the 90's by any band.
    3) No Line On The Horizon - given it time and now I think it's amazing.
    4) Unforgettable Fire - listening to No Line made me go back and listen to UF more.
    5) Boy - A New Wave classic that took New Wave somewhere very different.
    6) War - The first LP I bought and still love it.
    7) How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - some great songs, under rated album.
    8) October - Never liked this much until the remaster. Saw it in a new light.
    9) Zooropa - an interestin record but no really great songs for me.
    10) Rattle And Hum - listened to it lots in my teen years but barely play it nowadays.
    11) Pop - Unfinished or not, not up to the usual standard except Please and Gone.
    12) All That You Can't Leave Behind - Apart from the odd good single, a real safe, radio friendly LP that I rarely listen to.
  3. I'm not good in listing things

all i know is that The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb are my favorites (in this particular order) and Zooropa and POP being the ones I like the less

  4. that's not really fair to say when there are albums like Definitely Maybe and What's The Story Morning Glory (Oasis), Ok Computer (Radiohead) and Urban Hymns (The Verve) also released in the 90's. Achtung Baby is up there with these albums!

  5. Except its a live album-if that counts then why doesn't hasta la vista baby! count?

  6. hasta la vista was for fan club members only, not commercially released

I know those albums were critically regarded highly at the time but I could never get that whole "laddish" rock thing that Oasis had - saw them live and was bored to tears. Radiohead and Verve are very over rated in my opinion ... so I stand by my rather rash statement! It's easy to forget what a huge impact Achtung Baby had back then. I vividly recall getting home and playing Achtung Baby on it's day of release and the minute Zoo Station started was completely blown away and it continues to do so today.

well, i'm fan of both bands.. Oasis and U2
the thing is while U2 put out a show, full of technology and speaches by Bono, Oasis only play! They go on stage and do what they do best.. the interacton between them and the fans is pretty amazing cos' for us, the songs speak for themselves.. but yeah, for people who are not die-hard fans it can be disapointing (i have seen them 4 times on their current tour and those gigs were pretty special)

i agree with you on Radiohead and The Verve though
but Ok Computer and Urban Hymns are pretty consistent albums, full of classic songs.. so are Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory

Achtung Baby is just as classic as these albums
