Hm, tough one. The Hallam FM capture is even more compressed than the Radio Forth one. Besides the channels are swapped which makes a weird headphone experience. But the equalization is far more natural. I'll stick with a re-equalized Radio Forth one as it's technically superior, but I'll keep it for myself because I don't want to add more confusion to the various circulating versions.

Ah, how did you equalize it? Only difference I could make out is that the Hallam FM capture sounds richer and warmer, the Forth one is louder.

Don't know about the levels by heart (I'm not at home right now) but I believe it didn't make a lot of difference. Main difference was too much presence (around 4-5kHz) in the Radio North version and a slight lack around 300Hz, causing a little harsh and shrill overall sound (so indeed, Hallam sounds warmer). Otherwise they are virtually the same, except for Hallam FM suffers even more from compression. Can't give you exact EQ details as I don't use a traditional equalizer but a pretty freaky non-standard device.
