1. Well as the European leg of the tour grinds to a halt tonight in Cardiff it's worth taking a look back at U2360 which began just under two months ago in Camp Nou, Barcelona.

Ultra Violet is back after a 16 year hiatus (and has thus far been played in all 23 concerts), while UF also returned to the setlist for nearly ever night (bar 2) after not being played live by the band in just short of 20 years. ES made its first ever live appearances while MLK featured as well.

We've seen 7 songs played from NLOTH, generally all to very good reviews from fans. The Crazy Tonight remix was a massive surprise, and most definitely one of those things you either love or hate.

The set list remained largely unchanged in most sections; an explanation perhaps as to why reviews are so strong but causing some dismay amongst fans who wanted to see more. Still few fans dared picked what songs might pop up between slots 6-9, which also moved onto the final song before the encore.

    In total we saw;
Breath, No Line, GoYB, Mag, BD, CoBL, Vertigo, Crazy, SBS, Pride, MLK, One, Streets, Walk On, UV, WoWY & MoS played every night - which is 17 out of the (average) 23 slots. UF, as said, was played on all bar two nights in Gothenburg & Amsterdam.

    From there:
ISHFWILF(20), UC (22), IALW (6), Bad (4), AoH (7), Desire (7), Stuck (12), MW (9), Ele (8), UTEOTW (5), ES (3), Stay (5), NYD (4) Party Girl (2) as well as full versions of Stand By Me, Happy Birthday and the Auld Triangle also featured

    Boy (0)
    October (0)
    War (2)
    UF (4)
    JT (3)
    R&H (2)
    AB (4)
    Zoo (1)
    Pop (0)
    ATYCLB (5)
    HTDAAB (2)
    NLOTH (7)
    Covers (3)
    Others (1)

Even Better..., IGWSHA & Drowning Man were rehearsed but never featured live.

Finally, it wouldn't be right to discuss and review the tour without a mention of the stage, a return to the extravagant props of the 90's. You can't help but just stare at awe at it when you first enter the grounds and see it for the very first time. Thereafter it leaves you standing in awe at times, particularly (for me) during UF.

Your thoughts on the tour as a whole,

    *Note will update after Cardiff*
  2. Nice idea. I will close this to avoid any useless discussion before the European Leg is over.

Who knows, maybe Acrobat will be played tonight ?

Will open it after the show!
  3. first leg over. Whats your thoughts? Best show?. . .
  4. Review isnt correct.

TUF and UC were skipped both once (Amsterdam II) and it wasnt MLK's debute this tour... song has been played before
  5. first leg over. Whats your thoughts? Best show?. . .

Thoughts: fan of the setlists, although the encore might need another rocker, and maybe less ATYCLB. I'm not complaining though, with bringing back UV and TUF. Remix of Crazy is amazing, almost all the NLOTH songs are up there with their best live songs (maybe except for Magnificent, but that's personal).

Best show? Don't know. I can't tell, been to two shows (Amsterdam I, II). Some say that Amsterdam II was better, I say Amsterdam I was better. Amsterdam II had the surprises (great performances of Elevation, UTEOTW, Bad), but overall the performances of Amsterdam I were better (except for WOWY and SBS).

All I know is that the gigs until Dublin were all pretty good (Dublin I, II included), and the Wembley ones were good as well. I think most of the people will say that either Wembley II or Dublin I were the best shows so far. Maybe even Barca 2. But of course I can't tell HOW good they were, I only listened to bootlegs and saw some vids on YouTube. I wasn't there so I can't compare them to the Amsterdam ones.

Will certainly visit another show next year if they play Europe again.
  6. I just can't tell which show was best in my opinion. As I attended Amsterdam II it would be easy to choose that one, but that isn't fair.

Taking the bootlegs I listened to and the reviews I read I think that Barcelona 1+2, Milan 1, Amsterdam II, Chorzow, the Zagreb gigs and Dublin 1 were the ones.

    Just impossible to choose
  7. The tour has been the best yet ! I am a huge fan of Lovetown and Jt but this tour has surpassed it.
The best show has been Wembley2 , they only produce a show like that every ten years, phenomenal !
I just hope it is the DVD so every U2 fan can experience the magic of this night.
Thank you U2 for a special summer, I had six very special nights that I will never forget..
    See you next year !
  8. Loved the leg in the most part - would have been nice to see a few more shake-ups with regard to rotation of songs, think there have been some great shows and am glad to finally say I was there for 2 shows which were, in my opinion, amazing. Great to see the revival of songs such as UV and TUF that we could have only dreamed of returning to the set, not to mention the introduction (of course) of the new material, which I feel really started to bed in well as live classics, unlike (arguably) the last tour with songs such as Sometimes..., and of course everyone will talk about Electrical Storm finally making its long-awaited debut. It would certainly be churlish to ignore the stage that the boys have brought into the live arena (with some help from more than a few friends!) - one of the most grandiose settings one could ever have imagined and not one we could have envisaged this time last year before the details were announced. All in all, very pleased and yet - on the same note - a bitter-sweet farewell (for me personally) to U2 in Europe. For now.
  9. Been to three shows - Milano 1, Zagreb 1, Zagreb 2.

It's hard to say which one was better...surely Milano 1 was something special because it was my first U2 show...

Even now I can remember seeing Larry walking to his drum set and it was so emotional for me that I started to cry. The show itself was amazing, one of the best Bono's voices on this tour, and the crowd...wow...pure magic.

From the start, I never dreamed of seeing them in Dublin, Milano was always my desire.

And then Zagreb show came month after Milano. First Zagreb show and I'm in the first row...surrounded by my 15 friends, all hard-core U2 fans. I couldn't believed it.

The night was magic, Bono recited "Dubravka" snippet (the same snippet he did in Modena after Miss Sarajevo performance) few times, both in English and Croatian, at beginning and at the end of BD.

He also sung "All your life you have just be waiting for this moment to arrive...". And he was right...tears again...

And we got Unchained Melody snippet, the only one on this tour, if I'm right...

Then second show. From the beginning I knew that this is going to be THE show. Because tickets for the second show were selling before the ones for the first night.

And so it was, Snow Patrol is over and crowd is doing waves...and it lasts about 5-6 minutes, longer than in Milano...

Same friends but another place, this time we chose to be outside of the ring, first rows of course. This time even my girlfriend is with me. Perfect.

Bono again snippeted "Dubravka" which brought me to tears even before intro of BD ended...and I never thought that BD would brought me to tears...

Most magical thing was crowd singing I Still Haven't Found...and Stuck in a moment, I know that you don't believe, but I don't lie. And Mysterious Ways is so fucking fun while played live...

Great tour, I will remember those shows as the best moments of my life...

Was MLK not previously used as a snippet? I realise the full version wouldn't be much longer but I thought it had only been previously used in that way.

UC was skipped for Dublin 1 as well, thanks for reminding me about Amsterdam II.

Nah it used to be sung as a song itself when TUF came out (generally before TUF the song, as it happens) and during the JT era, no doubt sometimes on Lovetown, I'm not too sure, but I remember Bono playing it a couple of times on his own after One on his guitar during Vertigo era and perhaps Elevation. Either way, it's been played many a time in different forms prior to now
