Then I heard the keyboard and let out an involuntary 'Oh Yes!'

Git wouldn't have minded Bad turning up at Wembley 1 or Sheff. but it wasn't to be, shame shame =D

Amsterdam II indeed. Couldnt care less though
  3. 5 highlights? I only need one: Amsterdam 1

    Seriously tough Countdown:

    5. Larry Mullen Jr. walking around during Crazy Tonight. How cool is that?

    4. Intro to Beautiful Day. Just when you start to wonder where Bono's taking us the famous first notes of Beautiful Day give you a feeling of happiness

    3. Pling-pling-pling, the first notes of TUF. Alien-talk, a stunning performance of Ultraviolet. Awesome to have these back.

    2. The future...the future...the future...the future needs a big kiss! Great great great intro to GOYB, stunning performances. Also Unknown Caller and Crazy Tonight are noticable. The new songs rock.

    1. Drums kicking in. Alarm going off. And there's Bono: UNO, DOS, TRES, QUATORZE!
    Vertigo is brilliant.
And that without the extended end, would be even better with it...

    Lemon-esque? I don't see it.
  5. So no Pop, No Boy and No October yet.

Which album will be represented first?

    I'm tipping Boy.
  6. I'm not really happy with the setlist, although the concerts I've seen were great.

But I have a few comments:

    1. Breathe is not really an opening song. I preferred NLOTH as openener or even an old song like Streets.

    2. MOS is not an optimal ending song. It misses the power to end a show.

    3. There should be more changings in the list with the "hits", like Pride, SBS and WOWY. If you go to more than one show i'ts nice to hear more different songs.

Highlightsof the shows were for me:

    - The unforgettable fire
    - Crazy tonight - remix
    - Ultra Violet
  7. Highlights for me:
    1. Crazy tonight remix with Larry on the catwalk.
    2. The return of Ultra Violet.
    3. The power of Vertigo.
    4. The mighty mighty New Years Day (should come back as a regular).
    5. Moment of Surrender as a closer. So beautiful!

    The downers:
    1. Pride is boring and performed as U2 actually don't want to play it. Sunday Bloody Sunday is IMO tiresome as well, but it really gets the audience going.
    2. Tutu-intro was not the build up for Streets I hoped for. Better now, with Walk on - You'll never walk alone - Streets.
    3. I was excited to hear Unforgettable Fire, but it lacked the power of the 80's version.
    4. Walk On has potential, but to reach the heights of Elevation, they need to drop the Aung San Suu Kyi-masks. It's soooo corny.
    5. Four NLOTH-songs in the beginning. They should put some (perhaps NLOTH and Magnificent) of them later in the setlist and make more out of them. Make them classics, along with the classics.

And last but not least: they should really perform One and WOWY as they should: full length with snippets and all of the extras.

  8. I actually don't mind how they're treating New Year's Day right now. Like Mysterious Ways, I thought it had lost a bit on recent tours. Played in moderation, the boy's maintain their enthusiasm for it.

    1. I think with this new stage (big video-wall replaced for audience-wall) Pride and SBS both got new life. Highlights of the show? Actually it comes pretty close...when you're in the crowd it's certainly like that.

    5. 4 NLOTH-tunes as opener is epic. Brings back good memories (ZooTV ). Also, all 4 almost couldn't be played any better, I think it's great.

And actually to me One is finally back to where it once was. Awesome on ZooTv, trashed on PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo. But during this tour it definitely sounds like the good old Zoo-days again, a great "comeback".

  10. aaaaaah, I see.

I personally love PopMart One, but I agree about Vertigo and Elevation.
