    I think they'll drop Walk On sometime during the show. Gets repetitive, even for themselves I think. They might stick with it during the 2nd and 3th leg but a possible 4th EU-leg won't see Walk On anymore..I hope.
  2. its actually hard to see where they can vary the set without increasing its length. They cant drop any of the new stuff, Beautiful Day, Vertigo, and COBL aret he radio favs, SBS, Pride, One, Streets and WOWY are the old work horses (with the former 2 still working well and One sounding good when played early. UF and UV are standouts and must remain, MLK is only 2 minutes long, Walk On carries political weight and that just leaves that mid section which is being fairly well rotated night on night.

    So I dont see what they can do other than play more or restructure the set but as far as songs go, I just cant see what they can afford to drop.

    I could see Unknown Caller becoming the new Miracle Drug, COBL also isn't that stable, I guess. Plus the section they switch each night anyway, maybe they make a standard set of 23 songs - would leave space for 6-7 songs to be added/rotated
  4. would hate to see UC ditched like Miracle Drug. Possibility though I suppose. No doubt the set will change. Im more interested in 'how' they change it rather than what songs they change.

    Rotational encore suits me along with the 2-3 nightly changes that we already get

    COBL seems safe to me because of the lights show. Matches the song

    You're right. But I'd be happy to drop any of WOWY (it'll never happen, but it happened during 2001/3rd leg), COBL, Vertigo, SBS (which is however sounding rather good I must say), Walk On. But yes, you're right: there's very good reasons to keep each of these songs. Probably Walk On will be the first to go next year (as MWSAH says) - if they keep touring.

    I think the ZOO TV setlist still remains my preferred one: lots of new songs in the first half of the concert, a cool acoustic part, an impressive second half with beautiful revisited old songs, a wonderful encore with some of the best WOWY, UV and LIB - two songs from the album they were touring.

    The new setlists start like this, but do not always seem to keep their promise. Probably one Being Born or SUC more and one old, so many times heard, song less would already make quite some difference.

    But a very nice setlist compared to the Vertigo Tour - Vertigo was very boy-esque; this tour is more UF-esque. With all due respect, I like the latter more!

    It's an interesting point though because on that tour, and Popmart, there was very little variation. Yet they are considered standout tours (well Zoo is pretty universally). The only major changes came once they had new material to play (Zooropa). And at that point UV got dropped

    I think there'll be little change for this American leg, maybe a couple of different songs in the already rotated bit, but that's about it.

    Next year and with possible new material, we may start to see more variation.

    Yes, I don't expect many changes either in the near future (though there's always a little hope, isn't there?). And yes, people, including myself, are generally both willing to identify the quality of a tour with (among other things) the variability of the setlist, and yet they are big fans of tours with relatively static setlists, such as the very awesome first two legs of Zoo TV. I guess the 'among other things' element also matters!

    I personally think when you're on a good thing, stick with it and this is a very good thing. The whole setlist I mean. It's still flexible enough for minor variances but the new album coverage and the representation of other albums is good - if only they could fit Boy and Pop in there somehow.
