  1. Im sorry if this has been posted already. Im frustrated and angry about remixes. I personally hate dance remixes of everything. Out of a supposed 60 songs there has been no b sides. Singles used to attract me because of b sides. 3rd single in and the only non remix was basically a "different mix" of NLOTH.

    Am I missing something?
  2. You're missing the live versions - those were no remixes.

    Apart from that, you can choose between 2 explanations:

    1) They keep the material for Songs of Ascent

    2) No one gives a damn about physical CD-Singles anymore, so why bother with B-Sides

  4. I'm starting to really dig the remixes.

    Started with NLOTH 2 and continued through to Magnificent and now Crazy!

    Maybe their other songs are too good to be B-sides. I can roll with that!
  5. For me singles without b-sides are useless... Remixes aren't bad, but it is not so interesting to buy the single. And live songs everyone have before release... So, if there is no b-side, I won't buy it...

    True.

    But I still think it's a bit of a shame they don't put out some b-sides. They should have written more songs then the ones who will be on SOA (if that album will actaully will see daylight). I myself am not a big fan of remixes, I only like a few..
  9. As a collector of U2 records (I have all the singles in one format or another) what initially got me in to buying 7" singles was the fact that you got a new song on the b-side. If not you are just buying a song you alreday have and live stuff is fine, but remixes bore me to death. Love the live stuff on the current wave of singles but would love to hear some studio out takes or demos on the flip side. I'm sure they have loads of stuff from sessions for all teh albums that could be used.

    Mmm, they certainly have stuff; it remains to be seen whether it's polished enough. And yes, they may be keeping a few songs for SOA. Finally, B & Edge have spent many energies into Superman. With so many things on the go, it's understandable that they haven't many energies left for B-sides.
  11. The b-sides are called Songs of Acsent. I think they'll keep any material and find the best way to make some money off of it. They have become quite greedy in the last 7 or 8 years. They haven't given any kind of great deals like they used to to the fan that comes to see them or chooses to buy their music like they once did.
  12. i'm missing the live versions on b-sides, only Song for Someone have a live "single" version on Songs of Innocence, Little Things That Give You Away have a live version only in u2.com, will U2 be putting aside this kind of material? or will we have a new U22 someday with other cool live versions on new tours?
