1. Did the guys ever sing the whole song live, or was it just a snippet?
  2. they did it with Paul McCartney at Live 8, if I remember rightly.
  3. I just thought of this when I saw the title: That would be the perfect name for a Beatles cover band.

    (Or is it already?)

We play danceable tunes by the Beatles and other British Invasion Artists.

    Non-danceable tunes ain't happenin', folks!

The drummer looks like Sting a bit.

  5. Yeah, I know about that show. Paul sings the first an third verse and Bono the second. But I was more intrested in if U2 ever did it in i's whole alone

  6. That's who it was. I was thinking who does this look like? Rod Stewart!

As for the Live8 performance, it wasn't too bad. No worse than any other Beatles cover I've heard.

The only difference being they had the second-coolest Beatle onstage with them.

And if you ask me I would say the coolest Beatle God, I love Paul.
So I was kinda thriled when I found out U2 sang Sgt Peppers together with him
  8. From u2wanderer.org...

Many concert goers during the Elevation Tour came to associate Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with U2 - it's pretty cool to see them open up an event like Live 8 with a former Beatle. This was the first time Paul McCartney played the song live, and it was a definate first for U2 to perform with a former member of the Beatles. The full band (augmented by a brass section) backed Paul McCartney as he sang most of the lead vocals in the song. The Long and Winding Road was performed by Paul McCartney (without any members of U2) and closed the performance.

Released the day these songs were performed at Live 8, all benefits of the songs purchased on iTunes will go to support Live 8, the successor to Live Aid. "It was 20 years ago today..."

  9. What... do they mean that Live 8 was the first time Paul preformed Sgt Peppers live? That can't be true, I've seen clips from the eighties when he preforms it.
